I'm OK with the art. (And Jericho is a very good series.) But seriously, the music sounds like straight from Guild Wars or something.

In unrelated news: Another slap in the face from Bethesda

I have read the unrelated news. I have also read what Bethsoft's new community manager have said to replacementsdoc.com about everything, including Daggerfall & Arena, which now can be downloaded freely from Bethsoft's website.

I think Bethesda wants people to play Arena, but I just don't think Bethesda wants new people to play Arena. I think that releasing Arena was done so that people that had bought the game years ago, and maybe had lost the cd, or otherwise didn't have the cd anymore, could play the game again.

I also think that Bethesda indeed is planning to release Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire, and Redguard in a box of some sorts. And there going to this very soon. Otherwise, such an action against replacementsdoc.com wouldn't make sense. At least not to me, anyways.

Oh, and I like the concept art, but agree that the music is a tad too epic, but it still succeeds in portraying 'barren wasteland' and 'something wicked this way comes'.

Makes me think of 'The hills have eyes', the image at least, I always turn the music straight off, overblown & pretentious, sounds like a rearranged Oblivion composition, not my favourite type of music - I'd have prefered a sterile wind blowing or something more understated.

The picture is good though.

Speaking of the trailer, do you think we'll see "I was born just after the bombs fell" type of dead giveaways that they fucked up the setting?
Due to the YouTube links in this very thread I actually saw the F:BoS trailer for the first time today. And it was pure LOL.

The music for this pre-teaser does sound too imposing though. But I'm going to assume that it's not in-game music. Perhaps not even from anywhere in the game. Because it really is too much for the wasteland. Too eager. And the alternative linked in this thread wasn't much better, but that's expected from someone who couldn't get the music custom made.

I thought the picture was good, if anything. The music didn't fit in at all and it seems like he tried to go for a minimalist orchestral sound, which just ended up sounding very akward. However, I also have to say about 80% on this thread who criticize Soule's composition altogether, rather then his choice of style for Fallout 3, are just jumping on the I H8 BETH bandwagon, and probably couldn't tell the difference in musical quality quality between one of his generic scores and any acclaimed, famous orchestral works. Anyone willing to participate in that experiment?

I would actually have been less surprised to see no PC version than no Console versions :-(

Why shouldn't Fallout 3 be released for both PC, Xbox 360, and PS3? That way many more people can enjoy Fallout 3. And I think that's what we want :) ...

Yeah. We should be really, really glad that the UI on the PC version will again be similar to the console one. Say hello to your friends huge fonts and no hotkeys, again.

Or was this "PC and console versions have to look the same for legal reasons" stuff bullshit?

Fallout goes after numbers, Fallout 1 was the greatest, Fallout 2 was great too, Fallout 3 will be imbalanced and dumbed down, and thats just like the World Wars, World War 1 was the greatest and everybody was happy to be part of it, World War 2 wasnt so great, but the winners enjoyed it, World War 3 will be imbalanced and dumbed down (uh.. just some stupid button mashing)

I'm glad to get a console port with 38 chars text limit - so I'll not be forced to read too much pointless dialogue. And I love giant menues, because I don't need my glasses any longer. Last but not least there are fewer function keys, so I can start to shoot without learning too much control stuff.
Great. Now I'll get all the things from lovely Oblivion in Fallout.
And Bethesda has proved to be able to produce all that stuff in Startrek:Legacy, too.
Too much joy for one day.

Hey Aries, what are you up to? :? WTF? What kind of stupid idea is that? What's more important: a game that is good, or a game that a lot o people like? :|

um... no?

that's not what I want at least. I think most of us want a fallout 3 that is good PC game, not a console port afterthought.

who still have hopes for a top down isometric fallout 3 :(

I wonder if the teaser will actually give us any information at all. Presumably it'll have some ingame footage. So we'll at least be able to see the perspective.

We can make shit pies!

Actually I'm quite curious to see what they do. A post apocalyptic game in Oblivion's style would actually be quite cool, if it weren't supposed to be Fallout.

Well I predict the forum after the teaser will have a post apocalyptic setting. With few survivors of the mighty banhammers a world void of intellect. Or they won't give anything useful again and the teasing will continue...

Why indeed... I've seen a few people saying they've never played a fallout game but they heard good things about them so they're looking forward to FO3. It didn't seem like allot of people though.

It really doesn't make sense becasue if they make Oblivion with guns it'll definitely sell millions, but if they make a game that's true to the series it probably won't sell nearly as much. Maybe Todd is just scitzophrenic or sadistic or something, or just completely insane. Who can say?

You can't really beleive that they're going to do a complete 180 and not make a game that is guaranteed to make them tons of cash though can you?

I do think they'll make a cash-cow, but I still don't get why they bought the license, when they could have just made a new IP, or even rehashed the ES system to make a post-apoc game if they're too uncreative to think of something on their own.
