I know that they aren't doing this for me. But, like I said, I don't care why they do it. They get rid of a sucky game, and you should be happy that they do, not whine about it.

Nobody is whining about Bethesda getting rid of a pnp you consider sucky. I don't know it so i can't say anything about it's quality. What i'm interesting in knowing is the legal details about this deal. I don't think Bethesda would be dumb enough to threaten those guys if they weren't sure they could do it. GCG claimed they have obtained the right to do this PnP legaly from Interplay which means that they were cheated by Interplay or they didn't read the very small letters. The tone that Bethesda used is also questionable. Did they informed GCG privately before doing this? How does this shit works? If you sell someone a license for a PnP and receive the money for you can't simply void it and take the money.

Sure, they are within their rights there. But I don't have to like it.

What if it was your property someone was using without your permission?

The irony of Bethesda trying to prevent a Fallout based pen&paper RPG just spits in your face, doesn't it?
What.The.Fuck.
The devil has a name. Bethesda.
Oh, penis.
Off to Bethseda boards, anyone?
Someone made a thread about it, but it was moved to where nobody could see it: the Older Fallout Games forum.
Its not an "old" fallout game. Hasn't even been released.

Now I'm pissed. I wish I had l33t h4xX0r skillz.
Fucking retarded. Just give me an axe and I will raid Bethesda. No Glocks, just a nice, big Orcish Waraxe. I'll give them a taste of their own medicine. With any luck, I'll catch them staring at mudcrabs so their attention is extendedly diverted.
What would be really ironic is if Todd got stripped, castrated, and hung from a rope, then set on fire.

Just like all those poor guys in the game that the ESRB decided deserved a T rating.
Well, I guess I just misread these posts. I'm extremely sorry.

"Partly, yes. Bethesda's involvement isn't your fault, of course, but you're doing your best to make sure they won't even consider listening to you."

I'm the first to make fun of the FO Fanatics; but this is a load of poppycock. The only people responsible for FO3's quality is Bethesda. They are the ones making it. 100% responsibility. Good or bad is irrelevant.

Don't be a tool.

Property that is 11 years old and that none but a few hundred people worldwide would pay money for now after all this time? Hell, they released Arena for free yet you can't get the manual for it from that site. Does that make any sense to you at all? It sure doesn't to me.

You can download Arena with the manual from their site.

I suppose they could let one of those companies that sell old games like Sold Out to sell the other games Daggerfall, Battlespire, Redguard, but this depends on their own willingness (Sold Out) to actually sell the game.

Finnaly you can buy Morrowind collectors edition in the bargain bin for 10E, with the manual inside.

Hey I'm just idealistic and think Bethesda are assholes. It pisses me off that they can actually say they're cancelling it because it "could damage the fallout licence", as if they give a shit.

Also, I really do think it would be ironic if todd had all those things happen to him. Don't you?

I did some checking on this and here's the statement I got back...

Please be advised that the content you reference is copyrighted, proprietary material owned by Bethesda Softworks and/or its parent, ZeniMax Media Inc. Publication of any remake of the game Daggerfall® or use of any of its characters requires a written license agreement from Bethesda Softworks and/or ZeniMax. At this time Bethesda has no plans to authorize a remake based on Daggerfall® or to grant permission to use any of its characters. While we appreciate your inquiry, we regret that we cannot give you a license or permission to use such intellectual property.
This was to a couple of guys who wanted to create a free, ie, non profit, remake of Daggerfall for the old fans. Considering the actual people who created Daggerfall (apart from maybe Todd), no longer work there, I think the tone is completely over the top for a dead and buried piece of IP.

I know, I was thinking about making a point out of how stupid posters who registered after September 2004 are, but I figure it'd be mean.

Maybe my point was that the three of them weren't really Fallout fans. You never know.
