So, have they commented on individual tweets or something like that, the Black Isle guys I mean?
Also, how is Herve paying for all this? Granted, he probably stole a shit load of money from the company over the years, but where is the financing coming from to pay these fucking guys?
And man, was I off on my Interplay death date.

Well, he sold remaining IPs and his latest rip-off was Zionmax/betshitsda and that "FOOL" thing.

He's been p busy really...

Sold Hunter: The Reckoning (for $15 million!). Sold/optioned out Redneck Rampage. Sold Fallout. Traded AD&D for debt. Released crappy Wii version of Stonekeep, DS version of T-Rex rumble, Wii version of Earthworm Jim, re-released bunch of old games on GOG and had that humble-bundle esque sale for them. And let's not forget MDK2 HD, made by the esteemed Overhaul games! Also a few crappy indies like Death and the Fly have been released by Interplay. But the main income is sales of IPs and the FOOL lawsuit settlement.

Still, he keeps himself busy. Subdued Software was making a new Battle Chess but that seems to have fallen through after a failed Kickstarter, making Subdued yet another developer who fell for Herve's wily ways.

Why doesn't he just get out while he can?
Does he realize he's just bad at this stuff?
Or does he believe that he can actually run a company?
Maybe he's doing this just to troll the codex.

You know how in WC3, you can keep playing after you win? Herve has a button that enables him to do the same, only after losing.

Whats ironic is that Herve destroyed Fallout, Black Isle and Interplay by trying to move from "old school hardcore" games into the action packed new gen consoles shit and now is planning a his big comeback by creating "old school hardcore" game.

Well, since the Mayan apocalypse never happened, it looks like this thing worked. Thank you Black Isle!

Its probably just an exercise to see how many people will be stupid enough to buy a game on the BI brand alone. If the numbers are high enough, they can shop it to publishers.

I bet they've also made alot of money from Nigerian Princes looking for a sucker-dense forum. Wouldn't it be funny if it pulled a reverse "Gift of the Magi" and the forums turn out to be populated entirely by scammers looking for marks? A sucker is you!

Why don't they do a Kickstarter? Isn't Interplay American?

Or did they submit a Kickstarter proposal and the Kickstarter team rejected it?

For one thing, Kickstarter requires a funding goal, and won't allow them to take any money unless it's met.

4.600 dolla right now
since this is, in my uninformed opinion, a scam, i am thinking that about 1000 bucks belong to the scammers, to give to the whole thing an appearance of legitimacy. which means that about 3.500 dollars belong to actual people who actually put money into this. Amazing.

Amusing to read all this, but am worried about the future:

-a very very long time ago, when i was considered amongst the privileged few to own an Apple, Amiga (we are not a prosperous country down here) or later on my very own 8086, i was introduced to the world of RPGs. A world that until some time in the late late future, showed major signs of incline, growth and potential. Customer base expanding, market open for more and more of the genre and so on..where did that lead? Being the fashion of the day from the habbit of a select few? To dying/disappearing..until recently, yes, but hold on to that for just a minute
-about twelve years ago, i was introduced to the world of UO and SWG (yes, $OE, shoot me). Now at the time, i was hopeful that this would be the birth of a new genre that, given time, would evolve into something deeper, more hardcore-RPG oriented, complex and dynamic an experience. After all, signs were there, incline in numbers, a fanbase of semi geeks loud and strong, technology becoming more and more avalaible and so on..where did being the fashion of the day lead all this to? WoW and its clones..do notice how, relevant to technological leaps, that so was the decline faster and steeper than the example above, it is not a coincidence

Which leads me to today, and the afore mentioned """""""rebirth"""""""" or hope for one of the RPG market. And each and every other insert adjective 'dev team' trying to capitalise on it. Enter that cheesy, stupid, IQ insulting promo. See my line of thinking now? Worried. IF plenty of trash comes out, enough to shadow the few and qualitative ones, we are for sure into once more a descending spiral.
