Yup. We did our kickstarters over 10 years ago, and if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn’t have done physical rewards. At the time, we thought it could be done. We learned it was more than just getting some quotes about costs… there’s so much unforeseen expense, and labor and changing conditions… we definitely underestimated budget. We got the game done, and they’re out there and that was my focus… and my hope was we would sell enough to not only make more games, but to also help us fund taking care of, but we didn’t. It’s a niche product that doesn’t sell large amounts, and it doesn’t sell large amounts at a good price. Order of the Thorne sold waaaay less than QFI, and we put a lot of money into promotion for it, hoping that it was payoff for us, and it didn’t at all… it left IQ destitute, and it left it all pretty much to me - everyone else bailed, and had to do other things. It sucks - I did what I could, when I could, but I have had a lot of extenuating circumstances, and incredibly shitty health, especially in the last five years. We had the best of intentions, but as they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. No one set out to scam anyone when we made Quest for Infamy and our other games. We just wanted to make games and hopefully get to make more.
