Diablo 1 was great for when it was made, diablo 2 was kind of, meh.

Diablo 2 had some shit moments, like act 3 which sucked. I found diablo 1 was fresh because it wasn't to long or to short, and all the dungeons felt different to me. Hellfire also added the crypt which was a cool dungeon, the hive kind of sucked though.

Diablo 2, I enjoyed act 1 and 4, act 2 was alright but repetitive and act 3 sucked. the expantion wasn't that great either.

Diablo 2 shined after you added LOD and got the latest patches, which add even more content. Skill synergies, rune words, new loot, etc. As a vanilla standalone product, it wasn't all that fantastic though. In fact, the LOD expansion is a shining example of how all expansions should be. It not only added a new act, but it also added new game mechanics and improved on things across the board.

Don't add Hellfire to a Blizzard's discussion since that wasn't made by them.

L0L Adding a single race, and campaign is considered 'pushing the envelope' around these parts? LOL

Having 3 diferent and balanced races is pushing the envelope of online gaming, and no other game did come close to that (in how diferent the races are/balance).

It is easy to have new ideas that are retarded.

LOD added a shit act and 2 average classes.

True, there are alot of new items and stuff but it should of added 2 act's. maybe one side act in between the other act's.

We know that those crpgs that offer tons of classes have a lot of duplication and marketing decoys. Take DnD games for example, there's usually only three classes: wizard, fighter, thief and thief is already a mix fighter with some thieving skills that are rarely used. If you can have a few classes but these have their own gameplay mechanics it's way better than a ton of classes that just clone each other.

It's not Fighter, it's "Fighting Man" and it's not Wizard it's "Magic User." :P

Diablo 2 was balanced for 5 acts. If they had six acts it would've ruined progaming.e

Yeah, and fuck playing through 6 acts on 3 different difficulties. 5 was just right.

"wizard, fighter, thief"

False.

while he oversimplified, even wizards refers to the three class types as 'warrior, rogue, and caster'

Dark Reign did with the expansion pack that added two more unique races for a total of four. This came out around the same time as Starcraft.

The point, which you cleverly missed, was that while Blizzard tends to add things to each generation of a game, Bethesda tends to strip things out with each generation. If Bethesda were making Starcraft 2, you'd get the line of, "Well, not too many people used flying units in Starcraft, so we're cutting those and making zerglings use havoc physics for when they jump around the ground." It's hard to make the claim you're innovative when you don't attempt anything beyond what you did prior to that and you go so far as to do less.

Yah, Blizzard is evolving, albeit very slowly.

Bethesda is actually devolving, and has been ever since Daggerfall.

The point is making them diferent in gameplay/strategy, and balanced for mp.
