Fuck me sideways!

I'm up against mantiis!

He has 1 str 5 player, and 2 str 4 players, but all the rest of his team isn't AG crippled to compensate. Plus everybody has block. And frenzy. And his runner has dodge and block. And he has a leader re-roll, giving him one more than I have.

Anybody can give me some tips? I don't see anyway I don't end up out-bashed and out-dodged and with a few injuries to boot.

I doubt the extra point of armor my guys have will help me in any way.

The lack of armor that the norse have is their weakness. Block every chance you get - always block because the more you do the better chance you have of injuring a player and increasing the player advantage.

With the TV difference you should be able to get a bribe so that you can foul like a motherfucker so after you block/blitz and you are at the end of your turn select a lineman (a guy you are ok to lose) and foul. Foul every single turn - that's 16 fouls. Statistically you should be able to break armour ~40% of those with a 66% chance or so of getting them off of the pitch.

Lastly if you are lacking skills I would suggest a star player with the rest of your money. You could get a wizard but I personally think that they are overpriced. A halfling masterchef is also an option but Norse dont need rerolls as much so i think a star player is a better option for you.

Also why the fuck am I telling you this? :retarded:

EDIT: OMG, your TV is over 1300! Stop your crying! You'll be fine. Here I was thinking you were a new team.

League stuff: I will update the matchups and ladder etc when I get home.

My thoughts exactly. Mantiis is right though, you can't be scared to block Norse. Sack up, put guys on his when you need to so you can get 2D blocks. There is actually a huge difference between AV 7 and AV 8.

~28% chance of breaking armor on AV 8.
~42% chance of breaking armor on AV 7.

That's 50% more injury rolls the Norse team is going to be making, all other things being equal (of course they are not).

Also, and this goes for everyone: STAY AWAY FROM THE SIDELINES.

Also, with Mighty Blow, You have over 31% probability of removing an AV7 player from the pitch on a successful knockdown (16,9% chance for a KO + 14,4% chance for Cas). Without MB it's only 17,3%, though (10,4% + 6,9%).

Vampires, huh? If they have as much luck for Bloodlust as toastboy's Ogres had for Bone-head, I think my Khemri might even go for a win here. We're definitely in for some thrall hunting. :smug:

@Elwro: You should be able to get Morg'n'Thorg this time, so You're definitely not without chances!

Me and Phoenix finished. Write-up from him in a bit. Good tactical game, not that many slip-ups from either player. Maybe not the most fun to watch though :)

REPLAY here for those who can't get enough tactical BB (with the last part of second half being a complete clusterfuck).

MINOR SPOILER: Phoenix fails a single GFI to score in the final turn of the first half.

EDIT: FUCKING VALIDATE THE MATCH!!! (please..?)

Deja vu is a horribly reality. Elwro should know the score now. :smug:

Anyway, turns 13-15 are the highlights of the match and worth watching. Upload here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18468434/Day_2_Dead_Money_Vs_The_Furious_Furries.db

Heh, I was close to a draw there... and yes, I was 100% sure you would score in the last turn of the first half ;)

Dead Money vs The Furious Furries

It was a lovely rainy day, fans eagerly flocking to see the first game between these two sides. As seems to be the tradition, the Furry fans riot on the first turn after it became apparant that The Furious Furries were recieving. Manboon and Screamer both fail to pick up the ball and, after the fourth attempt that knocks the ball into the crowd throws it back into the centre of the pitch next to Plaguebearer, who'd just sent zombie John Brown to the casualty box.

While Dead Money's werewolves converge around the ball, knocking down Plaguebearer, Manboon and Gish-gors team up to crowdsurf John D. Rockefeller. Rex picks up the ball from the tackle zone of Plaguebearer and dodges away, but Mrasly Mantle shows him his claws, KO'ing the Werewolf and then picking the ball up with the aid of a reroll. There's nowhere he can run though, and he's knocked down by Bennie Ebbers on Dead Money's next turn. This sticks Ebbers within reach of Plaguebearer, who promptly knocks the Werewolf senseless.

Little Lamb has a shot at picking up the ball but fumbles it, the ball landing in a square surrounded by four Furry players. Dead Money try to move the ball away from its guards - knocking down Troey Pelt onto the ball which makes it bounce between Plaguebearer's hands to land next to him and the flesh golem, Mark Hurd. Not without tricks of their own - the Furries chainpush Plaguebearer onto the ball... and he picks it up! He needs to sprint three squares to score; he makes the first two no problem, Martha Stewart is KO'd and even a successfull dodge and sprint by zombie Stein Baggers isn't enough. 2+ to score in the 8th turn of the game, same as in the Furries game against the Hottentot Hotties - Plaguebearer trips over his feet, again.
:rage:

Half time, the extra incentive offered by that tasty Bloodweiser Babe wakes up both werewolves. 11 v 11. 0 - 0.

The Furries kick short, high, and slightly to the right of Dead Money's half. John D. Rockefeller drops the ball but makes up for it by picking it up from the ground first time. Gish-gors is KO'd as Dead Money's cage rolls to the right. Plaguebearer blitzes his way into the cage before the Furries use their superior strength to get Screamer, Prickly Mantle and Brashgy Antler in contact with the ball carrier. Rex's hunger for blood proves to be Dead Money's downfall, the Werewolf using up a reroll before getting Attacker Down on his 2nd block.

Taking their chance, Screamer and Plaguebearer team up to knock down Rockefeller, needing 6 dice to do it - the ball landing on the edge of the pitch next to Plaguebearer and the ghoul, Kenneth Lee Lay. Things go from bad to worse as Bennie Ebbers fails a dodge with 3 Dead Money players on the side of the pitch and then Rex is KO'd by Prickly Mantle. Mrasly Mantle tries to pick up the ball but fails even with a reroll but luckily Screamer picks it up as it bounces past him. Dead Money are helpless as, using their own ghouls dodge against them, The Furious Furries chainpush Bennie Ebbers off the pitch using Tony Hayward as a battering ram - before pushing him off in turn.

In a horrible position, Kenneth Lee Lay attempts a -2D block on Screamer but can only push him closer to the endzone. Turn 15, the Furries crowdsurf John D. Rockefeller and Dead Money's last ghoul, Screamer cruising in to win the game for the Furries on turn 16... a repeat of their opening game of the season.

Dead Money 0 - 1 The Furious Furries

:yeah:

The Furries are the league's undisputed masters in last-minute touchdowns so far.
Dead Money only got 1 point in the first two matches, and are probably boiling with fury. I wouldn't want to be their next opponent :D

Also: I watched ogres vs orcs replay. What a massacre. Remember, children, marking orcs with snotlings ends like this (not that ogres fared much better):

Well, it all went to shit really fast. I remember having about 50% of my GFI fail in the beginning and Bone-Head strike on my blitzing ogre right when he advanced into my half. So I had to slow him down with my snotlings. When my ogre got injured (he even misses the next game, yay) it was already over. I think that was in turn 3. Also, he injured 6 snotlings out of about 10 armor breaks. All approximates, I won't ever watch this replay. Of course I could have played better, right in turn 1 I made my first rather big mistake when I didn't blitz because I changed my mind in the last second and chose to throw Death from Above at the 4 black orcs instead.

So, I was starting with a TV 920 team (Amazons) against TV 1470 (or sth) doctorgrotsnik's Lizzies. I bought Morg'n'Thorg but didn't make a proper use of him, I guess, at least not more than from Zara in my previous game. Anyway, more than half of dg's players had higher strength than mine.

So, the match was a combination of four factors: me playing like a complete newbie (I even forgot I could take the "both down" result while having the Block skill), Grotsnik playing properly (I guess, what do I know :D), our big difference in TV, and the shitty connection, which ended our match in my turn 13.

So, my opponent was so kind to suggest he will ask Mantiis to set the score at 2-1. I had 1 SPP from my ultra-awesome single succesful pass; Grotsnik had more from his two touchdowns and three injuries I suffered. Anyway, I learned something about the game, and the match was fun. Even though it's hard to play game as 7 wimps + Morg against 7 strong Lizzies + a few skinks. (I think it was 8 against 11 at halftime.)

You can't outbash Lizards as Amazons so shouldn't even try. Morg 'n' Thorg can tie up a couple of players, they won't be dodging away with AG 1. Dodge away, hope you won't fail that 3/3+ and blitz a skink every turn. Your players are very hard to knock down by someone without block or tackle, even with 2 dice.

If Lizards cage around the ball - well, you've probably had it as an Amazon team. You can stall it very well but breaking into it will be near impossible.
