Applied finally. Fresh Necro team, never played them before. Yes even single match. Should be fun.

THE LEAGUE HAS STARTED:
ROUND 1:

I have grouped the teams by GMT to make it easier to play games.

Mangoose and JohnTheRevelator are reservists. We ended up having 22 applications, I apologise for this but we had to call it at some point. Sorry.

If others drop out (and there prolly will be considering the numbers) the reservists will take their place.

:yeah:

WTF? I'm playing against toastboy's Ogres on round #1? I don't know whether to laugh or cry. All in all, they should be easier to deal with at the start, before they get any skills.

Grotsnik's lizzies are my last group opponent. I was hoping for something like that. I'll have the time to pick up some Mighty Blow and Piling On before facing him. Good. :smug:

I see that the first match has already been played. Congratulations to the winner.
Although, 1-2 against Mantiis' Norse is not a bad score for root.

Do we have some rule against fouling? I fouled Undead Phoenix a few times in the first half and he didn't foul even when he could.

...he just later on killed one of my Hotties without breaking the rules :(

I probably won't be on steam a whole lot but my schedule is pretty open so just send me a PM or throw a post up here when you want me to be on and I'll show up. I look forward to getting crushed by a team with far more TV in the first round.

I've got a lot of catching up to do at university so I probably will not get much free time but I'll activate my steam account to let you know that I'm free.

How come Exmit always has the bashier team when I play against him?

You finnish bastard time to pray to your laponian lord HA HA HA

Hey, I have nothing invested here - Vampires, after all, suck. But Nurgle? That's a halfway mediocre team. So losing won't do any good for your honour ;)

And why the cock can't I message you in steam? Clicking the message button does absolutely nothing. Fucking steam.

And I see I show as vihakosto in the codex group for some reason.

Oh god. That match was embarrassing as hell for me. I kept mixing up which receiver had wrestle and which didn't. I even turned off wrestle once thinking I was going to cause a turnover... against Norse, fuck. Not to belittle Gorefiend, he played awesomely.

I have yet to beat a Norse team with High Elves... and there's two in my division.

...Nevermind. Gorefiend beat me to the replay!

Just finished up with Moss, and it was a pretty odd-defying game of Blood Bowl.

I think Moss' rotter died on the first or second turn. Not one blitz in my favor, but TWO. Despite successfully defending against my initial offense at the start of the game, it closed with 2-0 in my favor, pretty much because of the blitzs. He played a good game though and I was left with a damaged back and pinched nerve for my trouble, damned elves.

Here's the replay:

Toastboy and I have finished our match. For an encounter between Ogre and Khemri teams, it was very disappointing in the blood department.

Replay has already been added to the zip file -> LINK.

For impatient people, here's the result:
Legends Outworn (Khe) 1:0 Alpha Brotocol (Ogr)

Old man Svenson had seen his share of bloodbowl, he'd point out as much whenever he put on his bloodbowl loin cloth. He'd regal the rest of the team with tales of times he'd stood up to Slugman and (his replacement after slugman was killed) Slugman's Revenge. When he chased after elves who dodged deftly out of his reach. And when he lusted after Witch Elves who spanked him during the match (and after).

'Old man' had injured his ankle recently and the coach almost cut him. He was kept due to his experience and knowledge that soon the team would start against an undead horde filled with damaging opponents so he was put on the line facing the mummies that were to start the match. 'No matter boys' thought Old Man 'I has see far more intimidating opponents' and as he lined up and the ball flew into the air he saw the Mummy opposite him come and his last thought was 'Damn I love this game'.

The first match started with a bang! Old man dies on turn 1, first block action. Bam. Dead! The Northern Wastes are down a man. Lucky I didn't fire him, I figured I could use him as a punching bag and my brilliant plan worked! Wheee! Anywho Root went to town on my lineman and troll but could not pick up the ball with his ghoul. I lost ~4 players, 2 permanently but I managed to crowd surf enough of his players to keep me in the game. After a fair amount of punching and stomping and not bad rolls Root's ghoul picks up the ball, gets caged in the centre and then loses the ball due to a tackle. A Norse lineman picks up the ball and makes a dash for the end zone - seeing as how no undead can catch him I chill on the line on turn 7 waiting for turn 8 to score. The TV disparity for this match was about 440 so a bribe and a wizard was purchased and I forgot this. As it turns out so did root. I score on turn 8.

Halftime score: 1-0 The Nothern wastes up.

The second half and I get one player back, root gets his full compliment and we all line up. I recieve and the fighting begins - I press up the field leaving only my thrower out the back to service the ball, risky but I need the players considering the str and player disparity. I do the "old concentrate on one side and make a tiny hole against the sideline with the sideline as one part of my cage and the few remaining standing players as the rest of my cage " strategy and get my runner in there all the while Root is beating/fouling on my players. Not one foul called! The runner eventually gets free and scores while the wizard is still sleeping in the stands. Two-Zip, Northern wastes.

Root gets the ball after the kick off and after a couple of turns manages to get through the line of scrimmage (around this point a fireball was thrown to make life easier). The ball carrier is brought down by a berserker after dodging like an elf to get to the block and pick up the ball. I am feeling pretty good about myself at this point as I have surely stopped him from scoring. The blitzing wight has other ideas - he knocks the beserker on his arse, picks up the scattered ball and does 2 GFIs to score on turn 15.

At this point Root decides that he can't win and he decides to move most of his players out of harms reach. I think to myself wouldn't it be funny it he gets a Blitz! event. He did. And it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. Due to his positioning he couldn't score with only 1 turn left.

I have validated the matches to date - there are a fair amount of level ups. Five games to go this round!!!
