I prefer to call this happy chinks smiley.
yeah I had to google KCCO today.I'm too old for this shit. Can't keep up with this internet stuff.
Broken Age not even in the top20 anymore. Starting to actually feel bad for Tim Schafer, seems like the man is cursed with his games not selling.
Hopefully they'll do better on iOS.
They did secure funding. From several sources, but they did. Kickstarterassive Chalice KS (obviously), humble bundle, rerelease of Brutal Legend.Well, at least they secured funding first, so everything sale is profit!!1!
Oh wait.
So is Massive Chalice actually gonna... you know, happen?

I think they will make that game from the sales of Broken Age and the early access sales of Spacebase DF9.So is Massive Chalice actually gonna... you know, happen?
I believe J_C said they secured funding for Broken Age through Massive Chalice. For Massive Chalice they'll get funding through a 3rd kicstarter...
Does that violate Kickstarter's terms of service? I don't think you are supposed to run multiple Kickstarters for the same project, nor are you supposed to be able to continually fund one project by posting new Kickstarters (so you will always be "one project short").So is Massive Chalice actually gonna... you know, happen?

Did not thought much about the iOS market before but it is highly possible.
Was a big surprise to me to learn Broken Sword and Bard Tales earned so much money on iOS.
Thanks iOS for the resurrection of the BS franchise and the survivability of Inxile.
Cowboy Moment as you often follow Steam Top list, how is doing MM/Blackguard so far in comparion of SR ? and in comparison of a "successful" game (not AAA though or little AAA) ?

This is getting silly. It would not only violate the ToS for kickstarter, but be outright fraud if they diverted funds from Massive Chalice to Broken Age. Tim might be bad with money, but I think even he is smart enough to not commit federal crimes in the 7 digit range.Does that violate Kickstarter's terms of service? You do know that they have various different ways to fund their games and various teams working on different shit?

For instance Dracogen funded most of their PC re-releases (Costume Quest, Stacking, Brütal Legend) and a few Mobile games like Middle Manager of Justice and Dropchord.
Indie Fund funded Spacebase DF-9 and recouped the investment in two weeks: http://indie-fund.com/2013/11/spacebase-df-9-recoups-investment-in-two-weeks/ and they also funded Hack'n'Slash: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/206711/Double_Fine_launching_indiebacked_Hack_n_Slash_in_2014.php
They also have publisher contracts like with Microsoft for Iron Brigade/Double Fine Happy Action Theater, SEGA for The Cave.
They recently regained the rights to Stacking and Costume Quest from Nordic Games: http://www.joystiq.com/2013/11/26/double-fine-regains-costume-quest-stacking-rights-from-nordic-g/
All of this "they used KickStarter money from one game on another" is nothing but supposition.
I'm just speculating of course, but the timing of the 2nd kickstarter was very wierd. I think it is possible that they use Massive Chalice's fund for BA. And nobody will know. Of course this is quite unethical.Does that violate Kickstarter's terms of service? I don't think anyone can control that, even if they look at DF's books. This is getting silly. Nobody will notice if Tim spends cash that was meant for Massive Chalice on Broken Age, especially if he puts it back later with cash that double fine earned from sales. This is getting silly. It does not get any better. So far I do agree with Yahtzee that the puzzles are fairly easy and obvious, but again I'm only 30 minutes in.
