Could be 2K has them making a new X-COM game.

Seems like a lot of the XCOM team left Firaxis Games back in 2022 and 2023, so if 2K wanted another X-COM they may have went to an outside studio. And if you’re going to an outside studio, may as well go to the one run by the creator of the series you’re doing something with. If it is an X-COM game, could also just be something that started because 2K’s internal team at Firaxis was working on Marvel Midnight Suns.

I don't think I like the aesthetic. It looks pretty cartoony. PP was also a little cartoony and it wasn't great there either, especially when you compare it to the early footage.

Yeah, that is not a winning aesthetic. It's going to cause a lot of people to overlook whatever this is they're working on. If the gameplay is great I could look past it myself, but it's certainly not helping me get excited.
