I think he will go work for InXile
So any word from Obs on where MCA's novella for Poe is? Last I hear he'd handed it in for editing a while back and since then ant heard shit, looked on official forums (what a bunch o suckarses!) and only post I see asking gets ignored like bastard at family re-union: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/82853-new-pillars-of-eternity-short-stories-are-being-released/
You reckon they're drastically editing it or just overworked wi patches and shit?
It's holiday time, we're not going to hear anything from Obsidian for weeks.
What the fuck? And it's the second writer he mentioned. He describes himself as "rabidly pro-Israel" and says that Fables "was intended from the beginning" as a metaphor for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, although he argues that Fables is not "a political tract. It never will be, but at the same time, it's not going to shy away from the fact that there are characters who have real moral and ethical centers, and we're not going to apologize for it."
Hey, it's out earlier than expected.
Here's a recording of MCA's Van Buren p&p prototyping talk (you can skip to 5:20):
EDIT: 9:07
What's so cool about Gene Wolfe? There are tons of books that are much better. That's one writer he mentioned who I didn't know.

Stick to Gene Wolfe, MCA.
There are, yes, but I mentioned Gene Wolfe because it's someone he's mentioned a lot, and he's a much better writer than the ones listed in that tweet. What's so cool about Gene Wolfe? There are tons of books that are much better.
MCA, for example, likes "Roadside picnic", and this book is much more than anything Wolfe has written.
They consider it imperialism, discrimination, oppression and whatnot. The thing is, that it's one of the few cases where that's actually true, so the whole debate is a mess. Both sides have done more than their fair share of bullshit, though. What's so bad about being pro-Israel? I can at least understand right-wing antisemites (the fear of the "other", deep historical roots of hatred and segregation, etc). But why the fuck do most of the libruls have such a hard-on for "poor Palestinians"? Just... what? Israel is an example of nationalism done right, it's a single sane country in the middle of dindu sea. I'm not even talking about army, economic and tech, I'm talking about (mostly) successfully combining both liberal ideas, elements of socialism with the hard stance on military matters and its people being mostly united by the common goal. Granted, without the USA their life would have become significantly harder, but still.
One would think that based on their stance on women's rights, homosexuality and so forth liberals should be against Palestine (and Iran), and not anti-Israel.
Eh. It's not the time and the place to argue politics, so rather than derail the thread further, I just say a few words about Fables. Early-to-mid issues are really great, while there certainly were Urban Fantasy novels with fairy-tale characters before that, it was the first comic book deftly portraying both magical, fairy-tale aspect of various intertwined stories and hardboiled/neo-noir themes. It had great psychological elements, sometimes gorgeous art (not always, but some Vertigo artists were simply great), and captivating plot. Sadly, like it's often the case with many longer comic series, from some point it began to drag. Author injecting his views into work I don't mind, but the author spinning the wheels with his story, and allowing the characterization suffer because of it - that I really dislike. But even with questionable middle part and losing its steam near the end, the series are really worth reading. So I'm in complete agreement with MCA here. They consider it imperialism, discrimination, oppression and whatnot. The thing is, that it's one of the few cases where that's actually true, so the whole debate is a mess. In this case (Fables) I think it's very fucking stupid because I hate political allegories in general and something only bad writers with no balls do.

What's so awesome about "The book of the new sun"? I've read it recently, it's not a bad book, but I didn't find anything outstanding. But "The Book of the New Sun" and "The Fifth Head of Cerberus" are just awesome.
All the books by Strugatskiy brothers are awesome.
