Just read the plot on wikipedia, here's my call: It's a cautionary tales of the dangers on miscegenation, this case on procuring a waifu and having mixed-race offspring.
Almayer's character is what we would describe now as a lazy beta cuck and the story is tragic. Book is probably very good indeed, Conrad's a great writer, if a bit depressing.

However, recent critics have paid more attention to Conrad's depiction of Nina as a self-determined female non-European character

#LMAO cucks everywhere. The girl was probably attractive to the Malayan prince compared to the natives broads due to her half-White blood.
