while adanos takes the most important, the lp,and a lot of them for......i don't remember,it was some useless shit.....maybe a bit of mana.

Adanos gives you +2 to all protection stats per 10 lp.
Yeah that was it,which is pretty bad trade, also he wants 25 lp for that.

Alchemy apprenticeship gives you extra permapotion rewards which is tough to beat
Not really,by the end 5-10 more dex or str is not much of a boon. A lot of money allows you to get a lot more good shit, later on skill books that give you bonuses open up,also expensive rings and amulets that give good bonuses that are pretty expensive.

Did anyone found the praying to beliar and adanos is pretty useless, even handicapping you? Also inos is pretty op,you get the option of spending 100 gold for 10 hp once a day, which means that as long as you have gibs you could become immortal in a way. Should have been restricted to once per statue, and made beliar and adanos more useful. Beliar just takes your hp for gibs while adanos takes the most important, the lp,and a lot of them for......i don't remember,it was some useless shit.....maybe a bit of mana.
For a mage maximizing mana there's no bonus too small for me. Finished the game with almost 600. And the unique reward at the end of the alchemy questline is a quintuple-strength permapotion.

Doing alchemist -> locksmith, probably the two least lucrative apprenticeships, I still had enough gold to buy up all the stoneskin potions for sale in the game just for something extra to round out my character.
Fair enough, but in me book mages are meh because they are dependant on the mana they have. Prefer hunter, just go around and hunt shit. For the lock pick apprentice,i am not sure if you make least money than meat guy or smith. To me it looks like there is like around 10k in loot. The most useless skill i found was the pickpocket, because they removed the exp from it,pretty retarded move. Also the money you make out of it is insignificant, doubt that you could even cover the price of buying it,let alone the lp loss.
Pickpocket definitely adds up moneywise, especially if you are also the locksmith apprentice. Because he pays you for gold/silver jewelry, and basically every rich person you pickpocket has a gold/silver ring or something. Over the course of the game it's probably 6-8k gold. Still not worth the LP + gold cost to learn it, agreed that it was stupid to remove the xp.
But if you are not a locksmith, then that shit sells for a tenth of its value, which could pay its cost at best. With average of 15 coins profit with selling loot, you will need nearly 150 people to pick pocket to return your investment. Most people have like 5 gold and a shitty health potion or cig. People with actual loot are very rare.

Soooo you spend 2000 gold on a way to kill two shadowbeast and get resources for like 500 gold if lucky......lol mages are shit.
Why? Just copy them the writing table, it's cheap.

Archer is the op when he could just use 1-2 gold in arrows per shadow beast and get the resources.
Melee is op, when he could just chop them up for free and get the resources, lol.

By the way how strong is the mana restoration rate with the rings and shit???
About 0,5% of your max mana per second, at least that's what I'm told.

Rob chest of silverware and coins...nothing. Take bowl of soup....whole farm aggros.

Are the named 'suspicious meat cleavers' part of a quest?
There is a hint about the cleavers in a book in a certain hidden room. You can unlock a secret/easter egg when you collect all of them.

I decided to give this a try, but I have a problem. I have an old, non-GOG, non-Steam version of GII+NotR. The moddb version of this mod is supposedly offered for this exact situation. The problem is, the moddb version does not come with installation instructions.

So, I have the original game in D:\Games\Gothic 2 NotR. I have the 5 Gb zip file, v1.0.6, from moddb sitting in a different directory. Now what? The zip doesn't have any .exe or .bat files in it (except for GothicCrashHandler.exe). It doesn't have any .txt. or .doc files with installation instructions. I've searched the mod's page on moddb and couldn't find instructions there, either. A google search only reveals threads about installing the GOG and Steam versions, but nothing about the moddb one.

What am I supposed to do? Just copy the contents of the zip file into the normal game directory overwriting everything? Or something else? Could someone give some step-by-step instructions, please? Would be very grateful. You guys are all so convincingly enthusiastic about this and I was looking forward to checking it out over the holidays, but this start is giving me a sour taste.

I like that everyone wants to find cool secrets in Chronicles Of Myrtana, its like searching for easter eggs/cheats / hidden endings/ exploits etc. all those years ago and then telling your bros at school "Look at this awesome thing i found". Sadly i think today data mining took away most of that fun from hunting for secrets.

Is there any advantage to locksmith apprentice other than more money? What else do you get out of it?

Free upgraded lockpicking, which just shortens the combinations of chests. Lockpicking is already way too easy in this mod (7 combos max? there were chests in Returning that went past 20) so it's not worth anything. I only did it for thief flavor.

And because the polish VA for the locksmith sounds like he's on meth. Loved checking in with that dude every time I rolled into town.

The most dangerous skill in the game is acrobatics. Got stuck once in an area in the city from which I could escape. Also found a couple of guards in otherwise inaccessible areas, talking to them gave me some XP. Also found GTA:SA Groove St. graffiti. All that's missing is dopefish.

Just buy the GOG version. It's on sale right now for only $2.50

I have a new debit card, can't use it online without "activating" it first, activating it is a pain in the ass, especially just before Christmas.

So my question still stands to those who know the answer: how exactly do you install the moddb version of the mod?

There are installation instructions on the download page (Description tab):
https://www.moddb.com/mods/the-chro...loads/the-chronicles-of-myrtana-archolos-v106

It even says these steps should work with a non-GOG or Steam of the game

The description is wrong, I spent forever looking for him. He is actually near the city, along the path to Amber Coast, near the mine entrance there
