I found summons to be kinda pointless later. Bear is somewhat ok but high level enemies just rek them. There are targeting problems especially during fights with allies n stuff. It often ends up as a total mess as you burn your bear ass eventually with lightning before he runs back to maul you.
It's not a problem to ice block and follow with gunnin enemy down with spells just the same or just geyser everything including immortal allies who go back up anyway.
If you need to cc it means either a boss or you don't have enough raw power to just press button for win while being well armored and buffed with health and mana regen pots.
And utility spells, game allows you to use them when it says so, while often giving you scrolls, and writing in the journal, that now yes, you can turn into meatbug, because DM said you are allowed to.

BTW in this screen I don't see magic anywhere. Like what circle I am or whatever. Or is that "Krag" under Pisanie zwojow? I thought that's just the level of transcribing scrolls.

Anyway so I guess I will train some two handed weapons and strength..

You are right, that "Krąg" (circle) under "Pisanie zwojów" (Scroll scribe) is mu magic circle.

Which of you autists has figured out the economics of craft/sell melee weapons vs sell the raw skins/trophies if you're apprenticed for bowyer and not blacksmith?

Aside, I saved blonde farmer in Silbach from gang rape. Rapists not Southerners. Immersion shattered.

I ran into my first bug, and I was wondering if anyone else had it too. When Kurt sent me to Holdwig's for money, I talked to people about the "poisoning", then went with Denis to the singer and kicked Denis' ass. Gumpert came running up and said Holdwig was all right. Then back at the villa, I still have the "who could have poisoned him?" option for dialogue with Denis - it shouldn't be there anymore - but when I ask if I can talk to Holdwig, he says yes, he's in his room. So I go into the office... and Holdwig is on the bed and I can't interact with him.
So I try to hit him and after I beat him to a pulp (while he's lying down), he gets up and thanks me for my help and gives me money for Kurt...

I've tried reloading a few times, but each time he's lying on the bed and won't wake up without being bludgeoned.

I hope this way of solving this bug (beating the shit out of Holdwig) won't break some other stuff.

Yes I had a similar bug with this quest (maybe no searching for clues in depo at the evening with cook is triggering this bug as on my 2nd playthrough I didn't face that bug)

I actually did the search with Gumpert, had the bug, reloaded, did the singer instead, still had the bug.

But fortunately it does not seem to have any further issues.

Strange pebble - does it have any use at all?

Also, where can I store items? I still don't have any permanent house or anything and inventory is getting ridiculous to find anything in.

I just put my stuff into the chest in my / Jorn's room at the Silbach inn. Everything stayed in place. It is quite annoying that the mod doesn't remove quest items once the quest is done. Really bloats your inventory over time.

I just bought the house, finally, so hopefully I can store shit there...

Of course, it is completely empty, with not even a bed in it, of course

I just finished it. 92 hours in the end. I did pretty much every quest I came across, aside from bungling a few. Might post more detailed impressions tomorrow but for now I have a question:

is it explained why Jorn was kidnapped in the first place? Might be I missed something stupidly obvious but I was expecting to find out during the final confrontation with Volker and got nothing. I killed him if that matters. Tbh was not the most satisfying ending in general.

Mod is pretty great on the whole but not without its faults. Towards the end it was feeling less like Gothic and more like Witcher 3 but with Gothic's (much better) approach to open world design.

Jorn was a member of the ring of water. You can find his aquamarine ring in Kurt's hut if you use the broom in the right spot. Also mentioned by the ring of water guy (I've forgotten name of) later iirc.

How do I lose hostile NPC status?

I was buying some stuff from the sister alchemist in the city while some moron wanted to fight me, so I did, and after the fight I picked up a god damn bolt from the ground, which the alchemist interpreted as me stealing her property and attacked me (and then guards when I ran). I ran away, slept few days but she is still hostile as is the guard. Annoying as fuck since my last save is hour back.

"IIRC, bring it to the upper cave near the east gate ( near the Innos shrine involved in the innos statue quest) and a stone golem will spawn."

Great, right after I sold it without remembering to whom :)

But I think I can live with missing a fight with one golem, unless there was something more to it?

Steam playtime or savegame playtime?

I have 93 hours on steam and 70 hours on save and am in chapter 4, about to go to Wolf Den with Ivy.

if it works like gothic: unequip weapons, drop or stash coins somewhere, let them beat you up

also you might be able to turn yourself in to the captain of the guard

I finished the game on Sunday. According to GOG galaxy it took me around 75 hours. It really is mindblowing that this is a just a mod. It feels like Gothic 2.5 and is better than most commercial games which are released today. That said, I think that the mod would have been even better if it had been shorter. I started the game in January and burned out on it in May when I had just arrived in chapter five. Only after a break until August was I motivated to pick it up again. They should've cut some content, especially chapters three and five had bad pacing. It also feels like they stuck too close to Gothic by copying the trap-filled dungeon at the end of the game which has never been fun. Nitpicks aside, everyone who likes Gothic should pick this up.

I don't understand how you are wrapping the game so quickly. I expect I'll be at some 130 before I end it.

First I have to replay Gothic 1.
Then I have to replay Gothic 2.
Then, finally, I will play this.
I've got an incline in my pants.

Quickly? I felt like I was not making any progress at all for a long time. I checked the stats again and GOG reports 78h 48m. My most recent save game says 65h 3m played and my character is level 47. I didn't rush the game and while I'm sure that I didn't discover/do all side quests, I think I got at least 75% of them. 130 hours seems very high to me. Do you do a lot of exploring?
