Strife certainly was innovative for its time, but all things considered it's a rather mediocre game in my opinion. Not bad per se, but definitely my least favorite of the original Doom engine games. Those so called "RPG elements" sure were a nice touch, but they are almost painfully superficial and beyond that, Strife is just ("just", lol) a 90s shooter with comparatively bland level design and rather weak gunplay. Still worth a look though, for those interested in classic shooters.

So Wrath: Aeon of Ruin was a disappointment, Phantom Fury will be a disappointment and Graven won't be a disappointment because it's ass.

At least we're getting Chex Quest next time.

Yeah it's just Doom but corporate. Nice to see that one of the devs continued working on it way past the initial release.

Also funny that they made a Brutal Chex mod.

I think you can just load Brutal Doom mod with a Chex WAD and it will work simply because Chex Quest is a literal Doom total conversion.

Speaking of TCs, one of the Doomer Board Projects has a Chex Quest themed WAD called Slime on Earth.

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm thinking he just loaded the Brutal Doom mod with the Chex Quest WAD to do that. I was too busy laughing at that part to scrutinize it.

By the way, that The Last Exterminator game in his most recent video looks pretty damned fun.

Definitely the one demo i enjoyed the most amongst those he showed.
Wizordum is also pretty great but can be a bit exhausting to play in one sitting due the sheer size of levels. The final burning town level is literally the size of a town.
Brutal John i enjoyed the least. Really don't like those portals that continuosly spawn enemies or the platforming with wonky movement.

I do also find the humour and dialog weirdly endearing tho. Nice theme song too that you can hear near the end of the train level.

Gotta love people actually delivering the punchline for a joke 13 years in the making.
