I'd play the shit out of that. Man, I love that tileset. Wish it was public domain, I'd yoink it for all my projects.
uh.... it is? I made it. knock yourself out.
this is what I've done so far.

I'm extremely proud of the MHD in 16x16
the biggest difference between my tileset and ultima is that I handle shorelines differently. mine are more square.

Zed You should totally tweet that to Sawyer. "Pillars of Eternity title screen revealed!"
but it's not done yet! I'll do it later :)

I've been thinking for a couple of years, games with Ultima art, distributed in numbered plastic baggies with a simple manual, like Lord British did when he got started, would be a nice cottage industry for a couple of indies. Forget humble bundles and selling on portals for peanuts, give people something real. :nostalgia:

Oh, I thought that was the Ultima V tileset. Looking at it closer now, yeah, can see a difference in the rivers (narrower) and such. Nice job! Thanks!

I do think we've lost something there, agreed. I'm still very much a physical guy (and Kickstarted RPGs thank me for it, I jumped in at the collector level for all of those RPGs a couple years back.

For those interested, this week's Humnble Weekly Bundle is RPG Maker bundle: https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly

You can get VX Ace for $1 and XP for $6, with some resources and games.

edit: Also VX Ace (not Lite version) is free to use for this weekend at Steam.

Small update on my day/night cycle, still a lot missing like the moon, effects for sun rise and sun set, fading between clouds and water etc. At least I wrote my first shader.

I hope GuildCraft is just a working title. It sounds like one those awful browser based MMOs with the "Boobs, my lord?" banner ads. Also, CivCraft seems to have cornered the market on smooshing the names of two existing games together.

I'm not overly attached to it. I picked it because I intend the game to be about building an adventurer's guild. Now that you mention it, it does look like a mash-up of GuildWars and WarCraft.

:x

Can't fool us, I'm afraid. You picked it because you were thinking 'Boobs, my lord?'

Scrapped most what I had made for codex rpgmaker contest and started anew. I kinda shot myself in foot by wanting to make all assets myself but it's fun to learn.

Looks like something you should put in the asset store.

That's the idea J1M . Once I finish it up, add a few more features and squash a few bugs I'm hoping to put it up for sale for 5, maybe 10 bucks. I'll also probably publish a free version with only basic features included. Thanks for the kind words too, you've boosted my confidence up a little :D .

Very cool barker_s - I'll probably buy it. I'll be needing an old-fashioned text console readout like this for my project.
