I could use some help with the following:

  • Out-of-combat HUD displaying portraits and HP on right-hand side (á la IE games), and perhaps have them clickable for character info/inv? I dunno. I just want to westernize the UI.
  • Expanded dialogue, perhaps with a smaller font. I can make the font myself in bitmap.
  • XDY (e.g. 1d6) weapon system. More dice-ish combat. Again, maybe some sort of overhaul is available somewhere?

Started doing some custom graphics. Made this dope-looking fellow.

You're getting the right vibe Jaesun ;) . At first it was supposed to serve as an intro to that Alien-themed game I posted a while ago (which, by the way, is mostly complete, but still lacking the models and I'm too lazy/inexperienced to make them myself).

I think you can find this with a relatively easy google search. I know Broseph found a dialog mod he really liked.

This should be pretty easy to do. However, you would need to overhaul the entire character system. It's built around HP values going from the hundreds to the thousands. It's also designed for abilities to be the main calculation for damage with weapons and player stats modifying it. I'm going to poke around for a bit and get back to you.

I highly recommend scripts made by this guy. I use his base engine, battle system, and a ton of other stuff. The base engine lets you change the font type/size and automatically adjusts some things that would normally be screwed up if you expand the resolution to 640 x 480.

There's also a script that lets you have more than 4 dialogue options; with the "jump to label" command you can make IE style dialogue trees that way.

Zed it turns out to be much harder than I anticipated. You can only set variance up to 100% by default. So you can have xd2, but no higher die sides. Then the event system doesn't let you pull in variables for random number sizes. So you p much have to do a ruby script.

I'm looking for someone to help with mapping on my RPG Maker project. It's not that I'm bad at it, I just don't like doing it. I've been working on the same project on and off for a year and a half and I barely make any progress because I keep putting it off. I'd like to finish it before the end of the year and I'm going to need some help.

PM me if interested. :M

Ok bros, I need your help with my project now. I've squashed most of the bugs, added some more features and started creating the documentation. Now I'm stumped on a seemingly trivial thing - what name do I pick for my project? At first I thought of 'Console Tool', but people might confuse it for an in-game developer console. Besides, it can be used for any type of dynamically printed text, so it might emulate retro/sci-fi computer consoles, as well as a typewriter. Therefore 'Console Tool' isn't very descriptive. Something along the lines of 'Dynamic Text Printer' maybe?

PS: any names containing words 'Multiheaded', 'Dicks' or any combination thereof shall be ignored.
