I think Fallout 1/2 and Arcanum are the only ones who let you role play a dumb person? I thought that was pretty cool and I can’t think of any games doing that do that anymore. Probably afraid of making fun of retards.

Darklands had some pretty weird classes
Darklands is classless, it's loosely based on the Traveller RPG system.

I always enjoyed Kingdom of Loathing's classes: Pastamancer, Disco Bandit, Accordion Thief, Sauceror, Seal Clubber, Turtle Tamer.

The Jobs in Yakuza 7 are also similarly funny, because they're literally just jobs. Hostess, Foreman, Breakdancer, etc.

I also enjoy games where you unlock a bunch of classes in order to combine into super classes, like DQ7 and Wizards and Warriors. Underrated gameplay mechanic really. I think the Japanese tier 3 mage class in DQ7 is "Heaven and Earth Thunder Master" which was localized pathetically as "Druid" or "Summoner."

I really liked that 3 tier class system in DQ7, where you had to master somewhat sensible combinations of underclasses to unlock higher versions. Wish more games did something like that.

Insert Title Here Pathfinder: Wrath
Water Elemental dude in KotC II is pretty good. The Zorbus class that can recruit extra companions and gets experienec from their kills (but is a challenge to keep alive early) is a pretty cool concept.

I was a big fan of Guild Wars Mesmer as well. LotRO Burglar was awesome back when there was enough people to do Fellowship Maneuvers and they mattered.

A bunch of classes from Voidspire tactics/Alvora tactics/Horison's gate.
Like Ignis knight, a fighter/mage that is all about burning. Can burn people, blind peaple with the burning flash, throw burnable oil, set himself on fire and unleash a devastating burning attack that consumes the burning status. Has a perk that increased his defences depending on how much nearby things are currently burning.
Necromancer classes like unmaker or defiler had a reason to dress themselves in bones, all bone equipment gave +ruin magic. I think there was perk that gave extra+ruin if you're surrounded by bones. Defiler in alvora had a perk that activated a "instakill everything that has 10HP or less" ability in a large radius every time he/she got hit into critical condition, in horizon's gate the other class got this ability.
Commander can order teammates around("Advance!" to move them forward and give attack buff, "Retreat!" to move backward and give defence buff) and give them a free turn at the cost of his/her own.
I also remember making a character that is all about throwing giant swords at people. Throwing weapons became a gladiator class shtick in Horizon's gate.
And i didn''t even mentioned the gatekeeper yet.

Also, did anyone here mentioned Tales of Maj'eyal classes?
Like paradox mage who needs to manage paradox resource or run the risk of creating time anomalies. Can escape into the private space island to wait out the status effects.
Or the writhing one who fights with a tentacle hand.
Sawbutcher that dual-wields giant saws. Annihilator or something who can switch between bolter, flamethrower and electro staff modes. Tinker classes feature one of the few forms of crafting i consider acceptable.

It's harder to find a class here that doesn't have something cool going on for them.

I'd say the all Kender party I tried in Champs of Krynn a number of years ago, but it was up there with the least fun challenges I've ever set myself in gaming.

An all Kender party? Wow, that's an achievement brother. I can't stand anyone mentions Kenders, let alone have one of them in my party

Blood mage in Vanguard was amazing and unique.

Now, in therms of the coolest class, IMO is not exactly an "class" but is water mages in gothic 2 - returning.

To contribute to the topic, I'm fond of the Exorcist from Bravely Second: End Layer. Its gimmick is that it can revert any character's (friend or foe) variables - HP, MP, action points, whatever - to a previous state ranging from 1 to 3 turns prior.

The foe part sounds largely useless unless there's one of those bosses that uses a one time healing spell to artificially inflate its HP bar or the AI tries to bank action points.
Bosses in Bravely Default heal themselves plenty and engage with the action point economy the same way the player does.
