We shall make a list of the most awesome quotes seen in cRPGs. Post only the wisest, the most monocle and intelligent or the most retarded, dumb, fucked ones.

Monocle examples:

"Strength lies in knowing oneself." - Dak'kon, Planescape Torment
"Endure. In enduring, grow strong." - Dak'kon, Planescape Torment
"Simple minds, simple pleasures..." - Fall-From-Grace, Planescape Torment
"Real terror is not the sight of death, it is the fear of death. What is the fear of death? Terror of the unknown." - Pisha, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines

Retard examples:

"I want to be a dragon" - Protagonist, Dragon Age 2
"I'm looking for my father. Middle-aged guy. Maybe you've seen him?" - Protagonist, Fallout 3

Awesome quote:
"I can not be caged, I can not be controlled, understand it as you die, ever pathetic, ever fool!" - Jon "Joneleth" Irenicus

You forgot the most obvious:

"What can change the nature of a man?"

Also:

"I saw a mudcrab the other day."
"Horrible creatures. Avoid them whenever I can."

I prefered: 'Life... is strength. That is not to be contested; it seems logical enough. Take this woman. She has strength, of a sort. She lost her parents to plague, her husband to war, but still she persevered. Her farm prospered, her children are well-fed, and her name is respected throughout her land. She lived as she thought she should. [casts spell] And now she is dead. Her land will be divided, her children will move on, and she will be forgotten.'' - Bhaal disguised as Irenicus.

Let's play "guess the game"!

"You must gather your party before venturing forth."
"Updated my journal"
"Too late, and to their sorrow, do those who misplace their trust in gods learn their fate."
"You cannot do that while stunned."

"You will suffer. You will all suffer."
I guess Irenicus, not sure though. I liked how it was stated as a fact, not a threat.

memorable:

"The weak suffer. I *endure*." - TTO, PST
"Shit happens, people die. Usually when I'm around." - PC, FO2.
"I am a free man and I will remain free. No petty tyrant can order about a true mage." - the lich Yarash, Pool of Radiance (journal).
"Duty... Power... Victoriiieegh..." - General Yamo's last words, Wizardry 7.
"I predict you will go on a long journey. I also predict that you will become very rich and famous. I further predict that you will die young...and then be ressurected...and then die again...over and over." - M&M5, a palm reader in one of the towns.

retarded:

"Something happened. Something evil..." - Wizards&Warriors.
"Name: I am a guard. Job: I guard" - some old Ultima.

PS:T in general is a goldmine.

Fall-from-Grace: Morte, with a vocabulary like yours, you should spend some time at the brothel...
Morte: Hohoho! The gods are merciful!

It doesn't matter how the story will end. It is if you bought the game that counts.

Monocle:

"What a fool you are. I'm a god! How can you kill a god?! What a grand and intoxicating innocence! How can you be so naive?"

Retarded:

<insert oblivion security quote here, about not having to carry the keys if everyone knew how to pick locks>

Something else, entirely:

"A BOMB!."

Say whatever you want about the bad guys in FO2, but Frank Horrigan had some good quotes.

"Your ride's over mutie. Time to die."

"Duty... Honor... Courage... Semper Fiiiii..."

This one is my personal favourite in PS:T

"If there is anything I have learned in my travels across the Planes, it is that many things may change the nature of a man. Whether regret, or love, or revenge or fear - whatever you believe can change the nature of a man, can. I've seen belief move cities, make men stave off death, and turn an evil hag's heart half-circle. This entire Fortress has been constructed from belief. Belief damned a woman, whose heart clung to the hope that another loved her when he did not. Once, it made a man seek immortality and achieve it. And it has made a posturing spirit think it is something more than a part of me."

Mass Effect had some good quotes (It's still a shitty game BTW)

We have no beginning. We have no end. We are infinite. Millions of years after your civilization has been eradicated and forgotten, we will endure.
- Sovereign

And this reference to mr. clippy:
Mira: It looks like you are trying to restore this facility. Would you like some help?
Commander Shepard: Oh crap, a pop-up.

And of course HK-47:
HK-47: Analysis: There is a 98% chance this meatbag is requesting our help in rescuing its friends master.
Revan: And the other two percent?
HK-47: Answer: That it is wasting our time and needs to be blasted. That might be wishful thinking on my part.

And some shitty examples

Random Oblivion character: OMG I SAW A FUCKIN MUDCRAB!

Warden: Are you implying there are traitors in our midst?
Anders: I'm not implying anything. I'm saying "There are traitors in our midst."

I was gonna post that one :x
That entire conversation is full of great quotes.
"I AM THAT WHICH WAS SPLIT FROM YOU BY THE HAG'S POWER, FREED FROM THE PRISON OF YOUR FLESH. I AM THAT WHICH WALKS WITH ALL LIFE. MY VOICE IS A DEATH RATTLE, A LAST BREATH IN THE THROAT, THE WHISPER OF A DYING MAN."

Also:
"So, what shall it be? Will you join the Unity, or do you die here? (Join! Die!)"

Augmented by awesome music and some of TTO's lines being voiced - by Tony Jay in original version, and I don't remember who in the polish one, but he was still pretty awesome, even though not Tony Jay.

"You are one of many fireflies dancing for a moment in the night, feeling at your brightest that you can illuminate the universe at will. I am a star."

That's one of the coolest pre-combat taunts I have seen in a game. Even if, being from a fantasy game, the PC probably wouldn't have a reason to think stars as anything more impressive than tiny dots on the sky and so perhaps not be quite as intimidated as the demon intended.

Oh, by the way, since someone wrote Mass Effect quotes then we definitely need some Deus Ex as well:

"Human beings may not be perfect, but a computer program with language synthesis is hardly the answer to the world's problems."

"God was a dream of good government."

Anna Navarre: "Don't tell me you're going to wear those sunglasses during a night operation?"
JC Denton: "My vision is augmented."

Bob Page: "Soon, I will become pure energy. I will burn like the brightest star."
JC Denton: "You're gonna burn, all right."

Some quotes from BG1-2:
Minsc: I hit, to no effect!? I need a bigger sword!

Sarevok:"I can teach you how to use your wrath. You can control the taint, direct it, summon it at will. You can become the Slayer at will and become the weapon of murder that you were meant to be! So think of me. Think of how I destroyed your precious Gorion, how I plundered the lives of your Candlekeep. Summon your rage, stir the depths of your black heart! Summon wrath. Summon wrath and become it, for if you cannot, then you are not worthy of Bhaal's blood. It should have been I. It should have been I! ATTACK ME, WORM, IF YOU DARE!!!"

Edvin: Edwin do this, EDWIN DO THAT... somebody get this jerk a banana.

The Witcher
Geralt of Rivia: "Power, sex. Sex, Power. They both come down to one thing - fucking others."

Diablo
The Butcher: "Ahrrr, fresh meat!"

Ultima VIII - Pagan
The Guardian: "You have been a thorn in my side for far too long, Avatar." (ok nothing special per se, but this was my first RPG ever so that opening sequence got frie-branded in my mind...)

Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
"It is such a quiet thing, to fall. But far more terrible is to admit it."

"What do you wish to hear? That I once believed in the code of the Jedi? That I felt the call of the Sith, that perhaps, once, I held the galaxy by its throat? That for every good work that I did, I brought equal harm upon the galaxy? That perhaps the greatest of the Sith Lords knew of evil, they learned from me?"

"When one relies on sight to perceive the world, it is like trying to stare at the galaxy through a crack in the door."

"Perhaps you were expecting some surprise, for me to reveal a secret that had eluded you, something that would change your perspective of events, shatter you to your core. There is no great revelation, no great secret. There is only you […] In times past and in times future, there are Jedi who will stop listening to the Force, those that will try to forget it, but maintain unconscious ties. And those, as in the past just as I, who have had the Force stripped from them. But no Jedi ever made the choice you did. To sever ties so completely, so utterly, that it leaves a wound in the Force. It was a mistake to try to make you feel it again, I see that now. There is no truth in the Force. But there is truth in you, Exile. And that is why I chose you."

Torr: Me Torr. (I'm Torr, can I help you with anything?)
PC Character: You Torr. (Hello, Torr. I do have a few questions for you.)
Torr: Bugmen take moo-moos at night. Torr scared! Hep Torr? (Well, as I said, they are nocturnal in their feeding habits. I sure could use some assistance in guarding the brahmin. Will you kill any bugmen that you see near the brahmin?)
PC Character. Hep Torr hep moo-moo (Yes, of course I'll help you fend the predation of your family's brahmin by these nefarious bugmen.)
