Is it really that hard to design some distinctive protagonists?

The new female V look like shit and the new male V looks generic as fuck, even more so than the old version.

Why do you guys care so much about protags' appearance that will be customizable?

I still have some unanswered questions about customizeability.

First, AFAIK, there won't be a face customization feature with sliders for facial features, just presets with different races/faces. The customizeability will come from eye color, beards, hairstyles, tatoos, scars, etc. but the faces will be presets. The reasoning is unknown, no one has asked them as far as I know, but I imagine it's something like "we didn't have time to implement full face customizeability"

Second, voice sets. One male and one female. Meaning your black or asian V will have the same voice as the white V, no accents, no specific tonality related to race.

If you can give more info on either of those, please go ahead.

They hinted at more voice options at some point but its revealed to be 1 per each at the latest demo iirc, don't know if they are planning to add more...

So I was wrong about the face customisation feature. Great to know they have it in. Then I really don't care how the protagonists look in the demo.

It's worth mentioning though, that how they fashion the protagonists' faces is probably indicative of how they plan to design NPCs. They can always pull an Outer Worlds on us, although Witcher 3 NPCs don't give reason for alarm in my opinion.

I hate to be that guy again, but if every other woman looks like an underage male junkie, I will complain about it.

Reacted to that too.

Interactive elements: Nothing - aka movie.

Also I find it kinda funny that there is a 18+ rating in Brazil, considering what I see on liveleak :P

As much as the "Skrillex" hairdos irritate me, you can't argue that they wouldn't be in keeping with the setting. A certain androgyny of the women goes with the territory of scifi born in the eighties and onward, think minimal makeup, short hair, and generally punky stylings.

They can always pull an Outer Worlds on us, although Witcher 3 NPCs don't give reason for alarm in my opinion.

Who exactly were the target group for this, even lesbians can't resist the femme, so presumably it must've been straight girls and gay men who like seeing non-threatening females and cute twinks everywhere. But seriously, they sure had a type.

^Is that supposed to be the npc's level floating above its head right next to the name?

In the cyberpunk feature you have chips inside you that constantly measure your muscle physique, your mental fortitude and combat prowess and ranks you with a level, the higher the more capable. After this invention what would seem like one sided bar-fights in the past dropped with 76%.

At least that is the mental gymnastics I will make when playing the game :)

I'm still pretty sure 90% of the women in Outer Worlds have short hair because there's zero physics in the game and long hair would look super dated as a result. Though I'd also guess some feminists enthusiastically supported this decision as a way to deal with said limitation.

To be fair to CDPR, they released a number (I think 4) poster-size images last year which demonstrated the various styles and fashion concepts that different social groups in the game will follow. I expect they will stick to this, therefore both men and women will look and behave as it would make sense for them to look and behave, according to their backgrounds.
