In other words this game begs for trainer/Cheat codes to skip all those trash mobs. Playing around 10 hours and 2/3 in first Town and not sure if gonna complete it. Shame as detective part is fun and setting and graphics are even better than in Arcanum... speaking of which it had only one place which made my blood bowl... Yes BMC.
I'm enjoying the setting, characters, dialogs and story, but the stamina regeneration system is so annoying that I'm considering stop playing the game. Damn, I hate standing still doing absolutely nothing for 2 minutes after every single battle! You can't even browse your inventory/stats/journal or chat with NPCs while the stamina is recharging.
I guess I'll wait for a patch or mod that allows stamina regeneration while walking around.
I wonder... what do you do with magical boxes? I already found two of them. It says you have to break them, but how?
I can not use them with double click, nor can I put them into a slot.
They are actually a cool feature - they are portable shops, healers and town portals all in one. Destroy the box and you get a chance to do one of those, though be warned that you can't return to the same spot you left off like a traditional town portal, it's one-way. Not sure how I feel about that, as you will have to walk your ass all the way back, so it's only used in desperate situations. Again, old school but arguably to a fault.
I can't seem to find that Edmond d'Arvias guy. I presume he's in the paladin tower( as I've searched everywhere else), but being a priest they won't let me in ^__^ What am I missing?

Bought this right after receiving gold from the bishop, now i can two shot stuff (playing in hard as a thief) and since its a spear, it has range so i don't even get hit.
I dunno why, but this game absurdly gets me. I can't stop playing. However, there is one thing extremely bugging me: How the **** do I use scrolls? I have absolutely no idea how to learn spells. I'm playing a paladin and even since he's limited, levitation would be kinda awesome also since I suspect you need it for the broken bridge in the Iron Mines (or am I wrong there? Can't pass on lvl 2 )
Cool forum, btw, and the only one with a discussion about this game :D
Anyone is able to get any information from Rominus? I've tried every way of influence, but no anwsers. Even if I bribe him he takes money but the reply is "I'm not going to talk about that to you". Seems like a bug

Talk to him about how he as priest should tell you anyway... He spilled out to me after 10-15 times I clicked this option
Where is Smith Son, Sword of Edmond and monstration he asked me to find? Smith's Son and Sluty Baroness? was in every map and made all quests except those.

Are you fucking kidding?
2GB memory are too little for running a browser, a text editor or well.. anything in an acceptable speed. You may think different, but be assured, it is only because you are used to abysmal speed. Throw your third world stuff out of the window and get yourself an actual rig. Holy shit o.O
Well there is a 600G hardrive and not sure how much ram (or maybe what I mentioned was indeed ram) ...... and you're using hyperbole aren't you? Anyway I found that only the download speed was slow and the installation must have been a memory hog. Everything else seems to work fine now.
Now I just want to be able to stare this thing down and tell myself "you spent 11.99 USD on this thing- do something in your head to make it fun." My Internet addiction has ruined so much, and yet I feel like my personality is so focused on well junk like I read around here that I just can't find a different outlet for interests and frustrations. All this muck is just killing the enthusiasm that led me to buy the game in the first place.

Come to think of, in this situation it arresting the fucker and squeezing everything out of him in the torture chamber would be cool, inquisitorial option... alas afaik nothing like that is allowed - he just throws himself under your warhammer
Also, I was referring to breaking the main questline, which would be devastating for the game.
Looking forward to official Codex review, or sea's review.

This also reveals that there are indeed dialogue skills (namely Eloquence), and probably some others contribute too. I have had different outcomes to the same situations on different characters so far.
You don't have to deal with Rominus until you have finished Herbertius (or whatever his name is). After that he should spill the beans. As far as I know he is supposed to attack you and die, unless there is a way to persuade the truth out of him earlier (I didn't find it).
As for C&C... the game has some, but the outcomes have less to do with specific skills and dialogue choices (i.e. do you want A or B outcomes?) and more with the actions you take, your class, and in what order you do things (like if you coerce X, he/she won't help you later on). It deviates a lot from the typical CRPG "here are two options, pick one now" approach, which I can understand some people won't like.

Normally I would approve of this, as this type of C&C is more natural than being artificially railroaded to a binary choice. The problem is the "choice" part, where stuff is not a consequence of your conscious/uncoscious decisions but the result of your unfamiliarity with how the game itself works. I fear the game would artificially lock me from content just because I didn't do things in order it intended. Still I am intrigued to see if there are any consequences of the event described above.
Also, so far I didn't have any dialogue-related C&C situation e.g. that by providing a character with some information (spilling the beans) I would get into trouble (although there were a few moments when I got people pissed, but nothing beyond that). Talking with NPCs feels like using a "text dispenser" instead of talking to a living person. I think that considering the thematic scope (conducting investigation) this is too Ultima-oldschool for me.
You might be right of course, as I think we're at about the same point in the game as each other right now. Still, I would keep playing past act 1 - everything I have read indicates it gets better as it goes, with even larger and more elaborate locations and quests appearing. It can be tempting to get coverage out ASAP, but I also wouldn't want to sell the game short after playing only a quarter of it.
Grabbed this off GOG there.
Seems a little bit buggy but other than that I'm having great fun with it.
In the middle of the Iron mines and they just don't seem to end. I'm fairly sure my potion supply will run out before they actually end, the npcs just chug that shit.
The undead aren't that big of a problem. The fact that the dungeon seems to have no discernible end and just keeps fucking orcs at me is the problem.
I have used an unholy amount of health potions.
Anyone know if the dev will be patching the game? Seems it has some bugs and balance issues from some of the posts on here. I thought I heard something like there will not be any patches to the english version. Probably gonna pick this up but might wait for any patches.
