So these skeletons with halberds sprint at me and unless i get a few shots off before they can touch me to slow them down, i am done for.
FretRider should play this... Just as The Brazilian Slaughter... Sell them and buy health and stamina potions... Lot of them
It's a bit of a mixture so far into the game. It's basically medieval Europe except that there are demons, miracles and functioning magic all over the place.FretRider should play this... Just as The Brazilian Slaughter... Sell them and buy health and stamina potions... Lot of them
Is the game set in a historical setting or at least semi-historical one?

- The Garrucha was a pulley which worked a rope tied to the wrists of the accused. By it, he was raised to a certain height, and then brutally released in one stroke or in a series of successive jolts, which inflicted intense pain to the shoulders.
- The Potro was a bench fitted with spikes to which the accused was attached by ropes. The torturer, by tightening the ropes, would gradually drive the spikes into the flesh of the accused.
- The Toca was a funnel made of cloth which allowed water from a big jar to flow into the stomach of the accused, to the point of suffocation.
Pretty much all the ones you quoted are in the game, or similar versions anyway. The iron maiden is the only real embellishment. How is the torture played in the game, btw?
The Iron Mines are a fucking nightmare. Not one, not two, not three, not four, but at least five floors full of orcs, many of them mages, who are extremely dangerous. Did I mention there is absolutely no convenient way back to town other than the (very expensive) magical boxes? And no good way to restock on potions? Even if I bring 30+ back from town (fucking boring buying them all one by one) I will be drained of something like half of them just returning thanks to the respawning enemies, not to mention the 30+ minutes wasted traveling back and forth. Yes, there are healing sources available, but fights against the enemies in the area rely on access to potions, and if you run out, you are assfucked.
Fuck this game. This is complete and utter bullshit. It's not fun in the least, it's not challenging, it's just mind-numbing tedium. Whoever thought this part of the game was good enough to ship as-is needs to die in a fire while having their nipples torn off by ravenous crows.
So, it has a nice setting and good writing, but bad combat and dungeons... a poor man's Arcanum?
PC: Confess! heretic!
NPC: Nevar!

...
Keep in mind it's a $15 title.

To be fair, the lack of preparation is sort of my fault... but still, holy shit is it frustrating. There really needed to be more of a ramp up to the dungeon. I have managed to get through the hardest fights by using hit and run tactics to draw enemies out one by one (those throwing axes are good for something after all), but it just goes on way too long either way. It's not as bad as, say, some parts of Baldur's Gate (like Durlag's Tower and needing to walk out every time to sell stuff, or the horrendously bad Firewine Dungeon), but it's definitely up there.I finally finished those fucking Iron Mines. My sanity was saved by the realization that you can use the magic boxes to shop, buying about a hundred health potions every time, instead of using the boxes to teleport out and walk back in.
Also realizing that if you hit the buy option on the store screen the items you buy just appear in your inventory, no drag and drop. On the plus side apparently that was the deepest dungeon in the game.
