What is Dark Quest 2?
Dark Quest 2: Castle of Doom is a turn based RPG inspired by legendary board game Hero Quest. The game features a party based system where you control up to 3 heroes, an isometric hand-drawn art style, dice based mechanics for all computations - (where it essentially rolls dice to determine the outcome) and much more.

Each map is designed to take you through an adventure that will test your party's strength, courage and sanity as you get deeper and deeper into the castle in search for the chambers of the evil sorcerer.

Map Editor: Create new adventures and distribute them on Steamworks to play with your friends and share them with the community.

Multiplayer: Play together with your friends and go on epic adventures! Play skirmish maps, battle in the arena or complete the campaign cooperatively!

Turn Based Mechanics: Every turn, each hero in your party can take one single action. Play wise and carefully or be forever captive in the eternal prison of the sorcerer.

Skull of Fate: In the darkest dungeons of the castle, when left with no hope your last and only way out will be to roll the skull of fate to reveal your twisted fate.

Assemble a Party: Control a group of 3 heroes each with their own personality and strengths. Use their skills in the appropriate situations and see victory come!

Heroes

Barbarian: A powerful character who can bring terror and death to all his enemies with his destructive force and swordplay.

Wizard: This character is very weak in close combat but his highly potent spells are capable of altering the outcome of any battle to your favor. Use his powers wisely and you may stand a chance against the hordes of the sorcerer.

Dwarf: The dungeons are vast and dangerous but with the help of the Dwarf you have nothing to fear. His quick feet and eye for danger will save you against numerous traps and grave danger!

Dark Monk: A mysterious traveler that has come forth to aid the elder and his disciples to defeat the sorcerer.

Ranger: An exciting ranged hero that is young and mischievous. She always get in trouble as she never stops exploring new places.

Cleric: Her healing touch and mesmerizing aura will bring warmth and strength to the party in these dark days

Character Attributes
Perception: Rolls when you encounter a trap, if you succeed you step back immediately and avoid the trap effects

Luck: Rolls in various cases throughout an adventure such as a giant axe falling through and damaging you when passing through a point.

Courage: Rolls in situations where fear is a factor, for example the orc executioner has an intimidate aura that forces every hero to roll vs courage every turn, those who fail lose their turn and flee in panic. The barbarian also has a skill that when he attacks his enemies they are forced to test their courage.

Sanity: The castle holds many disturbing sights that can test your mind. When such a scenario occurs your sanity will be tested and if you fail you may cause harm to yourself or others.

Death: When a deadly blow is delivered and you are about to die you will roll vs death, if you succeed you cheat death and stay alive with 0 health points.

Monsters
There are 3 races in the game at the moment, goblins, orcs and chaos warriors. Every monster has been designed to offer something unique in the field of combat either through magic or physical means. Some monsters have a 'Master' version and are much stronger. One such example is the Master Goblin Witch, when she dies will curse a random hero to suffer 1 point of damage.

Castle and Dungeons
The castle is a vast and complex place built by the old king. Many years ago a terrible earthquake took place and the old castle was buried underneath the mountain. His heir to the throne decided that the castle must be rebuilt on the mountain surface right above the burial of the old castle. Nobody really knows what lies underneath, but with the sorcerer watching the front gates, your only hope is to find a way in through the old ruins in the footsteps of the mountain

After the butchering of the castle servants the sorcerer has put them up for display as a warning to anyone who dares enter his chambers.

Uncover hidden treasures in the depths of the castle, collect riches and use them to upgrade your weapons and buy exotic potions. Beware of the curse of the old king!

Our heroes facing a horde of goblins as they come out of the stairs, will they survive?

As you can see, it will be very visually diffrent with Dark Quest 1 which use a top down 2D art style:

History
The first game sold about 40.000 copies and was released in April 2013 on STEAM, IOS, ANDROID, PSVITA, WP8, and XBLIG. The game featured a top view hand-drawn graphical style, 3 heroes, 9 map campaign, introduced the skull of fate system with the evil sorcerer summoning you in the sphere of judgement, trap detection/disarming and much more.

Personnaly, I would be happy of the so called KotC2 could use this 2D art style

Hero Quest on the amiga had wonderful atmospheric graphics. Not this cartoonish mobile f2p look.

Have you played the first one? It looks good but is it better than the Amiga Hero Quest port and than Legacy Of Sorasil? Regarding music, it probably isn't.

Dark quest 1 just wasn't really memorable in any way. It was also too simple. Not interested in supporting.

Both the first hero quest and legacy of sorasil had some of the best music of all time. Even though the games were quite simple they oozed atmosphere.

Why the fuck does every hero have blue eyes?
Because it's unique, duh. That's why everyone has to have it!

I think the implication is that they are being controlled or empowered by the character called the elder.
EDIT: That actually sounds like a cool concept but I can't imagine that having any bearing on the story itself.

Dark Quest was generic and banal. It had the feel of a mobile game through and through.

EDIT: Also, although the interface and graphics are more appealing, the general layout and mechanics still seem to be the same boring versions of the first game. I'd pass on this men.

Looks kind of boring. The first game was mediocre and I quickly switched to Warhammer Quest when it came out shortly after.

Fyi, this game runs on the Unity engine but I didn't experience any performance problems, fps was well over 3000.

The sequel looks just as mobile-gamey as the first. I'd pass just based on previous history men.

The first game suffered from randomness (Skull of Fate) which is more fun when playing with others than in a single player game, somewhat annoying controls and time consuming backtracking when you dared to explore too many corners.

You make it sound a lot more reasonable. Let me break t down a bit further:

See the screen shot below? This will be the entirety of the game. Just imagine your characters moving around a bit. Oh and throw in some enemies, cuz why not? There, you just experienced Dark Quest 1.

As a big fan of the original games, I would have backed it IF I knew of the KS project in time... oh well, my money wouldn't do the project any good anyway.
