Fucking souls spergs, some of the worst scum in gaming along with MOBA fags and sonic pseudo-furries.

So tell me, what's wrong with this game taking things from its predecessors and making a game that will most likely be better than all of them, apart from the whole it's reusing shit?

It's not a huge problem, but it does mean some areas may be dull because I've already experienced them many times. It's hard to have my mind made up on it because I've only watched others play it, and only briefly. Perhaps in playing it, I'll think it was a great decision and notice all manner of subtle nuance that a stream doesn't carry to the view.

From's been recycling materials since King's Field 1. It just seems like pandering, the type that doesn't appeal to me.

Having watched some PVP, I think some of the silly move sets on weapons may be a bigger issue. I also dislike that they did away with power stancing and instead just have a BB style "some weapons use both hands and are twin-weapons", which means less customizing of move sets. Still, this is the kind of shit that one needs to actually play to really feel/understand.

Why is sullymoron commenting when his experience with DS is playing DS1 for about a week before giving up?

I beat DS1 and Scholar of the first sin, you would have known if you followed both threads and weren't hounding because I bought Spec Ops the line you old fool.

hmm, well I see now. It also seems that a lot of the people that claim the game is easy are most likely the ones that played every souls game before this one.

sullynathan the difficulty shit never phases me. I'm more interested in if its fun than if its "hard." So far, it seems the single player will be good to great, and time, balance and whatever meta will tell if multiplayer will be as good as DS2.

Then you'd know DS1>DS2

I still don't remember if the alligator mouth symbol means the thing it's aiming at is the winner or loser. Fucking brain drain. I'm just praying everyone understands Dark Souls 1 is the best game of the franchise.
Have you taken a math class before?

Yes, then I took a bunch of drugs and forgot everything.

....they did away with power stancing...

NOOOOOO!!!! ffs... have you seen any dual caestus or daggers? I saw some katanas with a stupid leaping scissor/come backstab me move. God damn it. I bet they only did this so people can dual wield and still wear stam regen shield.

Which reminds me. sullynathan The brawler build is probably one of the best for taking on Raime. AI is just too shit to use it effectively. If you ever replay DS2 it's a really fun build to try out. Fast moves, recovery and very low stamina use make bosses a lot easier than you might think.

Talking about AI, anyone seen a certain assassin in DS3 yet?

I haven't seen much but it's looking good. Kinda. Not sure about the Bloodborne vibe but I can see it being another really fun time sink. Did see phantom jumps are still in. WTF? And the fucking camera flip when you 'lock on' out of range. I hate that so much.

DS2>DS1 is a total absurd and it's so wrong on so many levels

DS1 install: 3.73 GB
DS2 install: 18.10 GB

Nope. DS2 is objectively > than DS1.

Though I get that DS1 is a very special game. For very special people. Who can walk past a locked door, find a key and still not figure out where to go. Or get lost in a game with magical teleporting bones, dark sign and death that spawn you back to where you were. And who think 20 Estus + 99 humanity constitutes 'limited healing'. Indeed. A very special game. For very special people.

Some of those fights seem awesome. Good mix of humanoids (which are often the best fights) and monsters.

I haven't played BB so I can't comment on that but I sure hope this game takes the best parts of DS1 and combines them with the best parts of DS2. Doesn't look like it will happen but I'm positive the game will still be better than like 85%+ of games that I've played.

Still not a fan of the blood. I don't remember it looking so weird in DS1/2.

I kind of feel somewhat the DS trilogy is like Star Wars Trilogy

DS 2 is the empire strikes back, better mechanicaly but worse in the 'universe' feel than the first one.

DS 3 will be return of the jedi, all the great things put together and even more ( but what will be the ewoks? )
More like the entire saga.

Dark Souls 1 is Episode IV.

Dark Souls 2 is Episode I: it looked prettier, had a different theme going on yet the characters and story were not very interesting or good.

Dark Souls 3 is Episode VII: A remake for the first one carrying much of its iconography but made to be newer and more exciting, yet in doing so lacks a soul of its own and looks more like a cheap copy riding the coattails of its predecessor. Also the recurring actors look like shit in comparison to their earlier versions.

So, people who are actually watching spoilers. Will this game be actual bad or is everyone just complaining because it won't be as good as the previous ones (but still better than 90% of everything that gets put out these days) ?

The greater number of factions.

http://darksouls.wikidot.com/covenants

http://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Covenants

They both have 9 you knucklehead, and lets be honest, the covenant system fucking blows. Not only are they horribly balanced [Ie Bell Keepers giving you incredibly important T chunks in DS2 while Reds in DS2 give you shit] and poorly designed [Nobody plays blue sentinels in DS2, nobody plays Dragons/WoW/Princess in DS1, and worst of all there were no Orbs in DS2] there's no reason to have 9 since all you really have mechanically is coop covenant, and player-killer covenant. From really needed some new ideas for multiplayer, but it's too late now.

Just sperging bullshit. If you like souls, you will like DS 3. If you wanted more bloodborne in souls, then this is exactly that.

How are people beating these games so early? How long did it take others to beat the past Souls games? I would have beat DS1 in less than 70 hours if I didn't play online or farm and I would have beat DS2 in 40 hours if I didn't play DLC or farm.

I could do review as well, when I wouldn't want to avoid spoilers.
No embargo can prevent you do review from OFFICIAL DS3 streams. They even gave them English game early.

It took me more than 150 hours to finish first playtrough of DS.

The game is 40 hours long.

I watched some streams but only until the embargo limit. And to be honest, I watched some retard trying to kill a boss for 4 hours.

Anyway, my feelings are mixed. Technically the game is a re-skinned Bloodborne therefore if you like BB then you'll love DS3. Personally, I'm not sold on the new combat.

The game lost the mystery of the previous iterations ... which was bound to happen. The amount of reused assets are not helping with this either.

The game is definitely not bad and I think is safe to say that is better than DaS2-vanilla ... but there is no chance it will surpass DaS1. PvP seems to be a mess though.
