Wake defaults to highest difficulty (i.e., enemies with double HP) if you import from Lands.
Wake had more powerful artifact stuff. The drake leather armour, the Promere set, the +3 gloves, El's Drinker (easily the most powerful weapon in the game for a high level fighter-type, since you can get two of them in Lands and Wake) makes a comeback, the bottle that allows you to rest anywhere, etc.Wake defaults to highest difficulty (i.e., enemies with double HP) if you import from Lands.
Rightfully so, the characters and esp. equipment you get from Shattered Lands is far beyond whats normally assigned in Wake of the Ravager. I would try to keep it at max difficulty unless you have huge problems, that way its not a complete walk in the park...
Ever since I began 1992--began, effectively, my "dark period"--I've been wondering when we'd hit the first game that crossed that threshold. Unless its opening hours have fooled me, Dark Sun: Shattered Lands seems to be it. This game is the complete package. There's still room for improvement, particularly in graphics and sound, but otherwise I'm not seeing anything that the Infinity Engine lacks. Again, I'm only judging it by its opening hours, but I can't see why this game isn't going to rocket to the top of the list.
Many of my commenters have praised the game, but these opening moments have been so good that I don't understand why it isn't far more famous than it is. Everything about it so far has been as good or better than the best Gold Box game, starting with the much more interesting setting, and continuing to tactical combat, interesting role-playing choices, multiple ways to solve problems, and the first regular, full-text dialogue options. If I had encountered this, rather than Baldur's Gate, in 1999, I would have been no less impressed.
I ultimately had to load a save and replay the area the intended way, i.e. healing the Magera and killing Balkazar. It should be noted that when you first arrive and talk to the Slave Leaders, you can ask them to fight the armies of Draj, and they'll agree if you give them 60% of the treasure. Except you can't actually do that. You can only offer them 50%. It's like SSI just ran out of time and couldn't implement all the ideas they had for this area, so you're railroaded into doing it one way.Holy fuck the Magera Temple is broken. I went in guns blazing and got completely softlocked. Couldn't talk to anyone, couldn't leave the map. Some areas of this game you really get the sense that they were tripping over themselves trying to get it out the door on time.
If you import your character you get the ultra hard difficulty!Hey guys. I don't think I officially mentioned it here, but I beat Shattered Lands a couple months ago! It was a wild ride, and like CRPGAddict I was hugely impressed by the game and what it offered. I am going to (not sure when, but sometime) import my winning party into Wake Of The Ravager and play through that game as well with the same group. Should be a lot of fun.
Anyone reading this should really install this game if they haven't played it and give it a go. It's great! If u like turn-based combat u will be in for a real treat here, as well as if you're a fan of awesome loot, cool spells and powers, exploration and TONS of roleplaying opportunities in dialogue! Enjoy!

You can do it in Shattered Lands. Not sure about Wake of the Ravager. If you triple class, can you get into the lv cap? In this game and wake of the ravager? I know that is more optimal but I don't like.
Yeah, I am quite sure he was talking about NWN or NWN2. So IMO it's not the same guy.
I suggest reviewing the thread Dark Sun: Shattered Lands starting tips.About to start this. From what I've heard it sounds awesome and way up my alley. Any tips gents? What would be a good party?
I think you can actually take whatever you want and do away with it. But a classic RPG party is nothing wrong either. Multiclass at least some to have a non-dedicated thief or some of those special caster classes like Preserver or Psionics.About to start this.
