one of the best stories in the history of video games moron
Porky's right. For those who haven't been lucky enough to play this masterpiece of storytelling, or for those who played it but were too ignorant or impatient to appreciate the symbolism, I've put together a plot summary. Big spoilers, prepare to have your mind blown.

Guy meets girl.
Zombie apocalypse starts.
Guy loses girl.
Zombies everywhere.
Survivors form camps, who all hate each other.
Guy shoots a lot of bad humans from evil camps, and a whole lot of zombies.
Guy finds girl.
Girl tries to cure zombies but can't.
Camps all declare war on each other.
The guy picks one camp and leads them to kill all the other camps.
The guy and girl live in the good camp happily ever after.
Nothing is solved.

You can summarize any good story to look like shit. The point is, this game has an amazing storyline, the way it's presented via dialogue, cut-scenes, the way the characters talk, this is a masterpiece of storytelling. Unlike the bottom of the barrel shit that you like.

There is a reason this game has ~90/100 player reviews everywhere (Metacritic, Steam, etc), and there is a million "this is an underrated gem" threads online. Meanwhile it was sandbagged by the retarded mainstream video game websites like PC Gamer, so congratulations Zombra, you are now as dumb and useless as a mainstream Mountain Dew and Doritors venue.

[John Garvin was the writer and director on Days Gone]

Garvin and the game's director, Jeff Ross, left the studio by December 2020.[10] However, Garvin claims the company fired him for having "a disruptive personality".[13] Bend Studio has distanced itself from Garvin after his complaint on Twitter where he blamed "woke" reviewers for the middling critical reception of Days Gone.[14]
only now reading up on it, good man

He seems to be getting a lot of pushback for his comments regarding Astro Bot. There's a ResetEra thread (in response to his tweet above) calling him out on his “horrendous attitude” – and it's filled with insults.

There is an interesting trend were a lot of trannies and game journos are championing Astro Bot as the new 'savior of gaming'. Apparently its because it was a smaller team developing a shorter game with a lower budget. Kinda like saying this is the model they want to see going forward instead of bloated games with huge budgets.

Unironically this:

Also they already disliked the dude a lot because of comments like the woke reviewers one and wokies and progs absolutely hated Days Gone when it came out too, despite the game having stuff like lesbian characters, tons of blacks, the last villain being a Christian extremist, etc.

I think they should have tried to make Astro Bot its own thing. The cameos from other PlayStation characters kind of brings it down, for me. It reminds me of Little Big Planet where Sack Boy would adopt the aesthetics of other PlayStation characters. It just looks odd. I've even seen Crash in some of the Astro footage, which is weird because Microsoft now owns the IP.

The guy is an idiot wannabe culture wars victim. He sounded the woke alarm despite most mediocre reviews of the game trashing the dull story and cookie cutter gameplay. You can cherry pick one or two reviews that are mad about showing a woman in tight jeans (and even those mention it offhand amid more substantial complaints). None of this stupidity is the real reason for the game's often lukewarm reception.

Won't read the reviews, but yeah, game was really by the numbers and mediocre. Protagonist was a faggot. Might have respected him if he had gotten into the redneck biker culture without submitting to the disgusting tattoos. His whole body is covered. Couldn't finish it.

No, the stupid reviews were complaints the game was too white and masculine.

They also whined about killing kid zombies.

We know these guys all talk to each other on back channels and collude over this stuff. Many such cases. Whether that really hurt sales is or not is hard to say though. The game came out too late, zombies were getting played out and The Last of Us was seen as being more creative (despite being a linear corridor walk-in-talker with minimal real gameplay, but nevermind). The game's only real cool feature, hordes, also didn't matter all that much.

lol. Both of the previews cited in that article praise the game despite taking note (again, in passing) of yet another scruffy white dude. Did you actually check the source and read the IGN preview? No, you saw the word "white" and immediately leapt to vast media conspiracy. If previews like that constitute the worst of woke review bombing then good news, the culture wars are already over.

It's all the blandest mechanics and design of the last fifteen years lumped together into unplayable sludge. The motorcycle isn't even fun.

I thought Days Gone was serviceable. I'd put it roughly around the same level as the original Dying Light. Neither is particularly groundbreaking but the bike mechanic in Days Gone and the parkour in Dying Light put a fun spin on slaughtering masses of zombies in an apocalyptic hellscape.

Back in September, right before the official announcement of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, multiple leakers reported that Sony Bend’s Days Gone would be receiving a similar enhanced remaster.

ResetEra user ‘dex3108’ noted that the SteamDB listing for Days Gone has seen an uptick in activity over the past week – suggesting that work is going on behind the scenes in some regard.

We're remastering 5 year old movie games now? Lmao. Sony's diversity hires can't make anything new that is not complete shit so all they have left is remastering their lesser shit titles or bringing them to pc?

I've played this a couple of years ago and the only redeeming thing was the zombie horde fighting. Outside of that it's just ubisoft type of game full of outpost cleaning with fags and girlbosses in the story. Imagine making a 60 something year old army hard ass colonel a faggot that loses his wits when his mexican boyfriend dies...

Alas! in my skull
I haven't finished it, have it on a back burner but the game definitely has a political vibe of working class dudes left for dead by city liberals, even if only superficial. I thought it was kinda endearing and original tbh even if rest of the stuff is typical zombie fest (admittedly very competently made). I can see why it was a red cloth for critics.

Sony burned hundreds of millions on Concord and most of their studios need almost a decade to develop new games due to various reasons (DEI hiring, large focus on cinematics and realism, etc). They need these remasters to generate cash flow with minimal investment and to pad their release line up. Same reason they are porting their games to PC.
