What's the first item you win(or is there any order?). What happens to the item if your victor can't wear it. Might as well go out in a blaze of glory.

With the extremely low precision from Perpetual Storm, not sure that would have helped your cause(would have killed more of your own troops and auto-routed while the Myrm would just regen). He had also cast lightning resist, which isn't much, but the damage and accuracy would be too low.

Also, spell casting AI generally refuses to cast evocations against single targets when a lot of your units are around. I think you were actually a little lucky! You hit the Myrm and set it berserk before it could cast Fire Shield etc., which would have dealt with all those phantasmal wolves and led to a bunch more losses of actual troops.
