Yes, China spearheads the Communism in Fallout's world.

In other news, the team expands rapidly so 2 writers, 2 voice actors, a musician and an artist joined the team yesterday. Because of that we're moving from private conversations here to www.develteam.com which can provide us with much needed private forums and other developer tools.

No more references to the USSR Soviets like the Soviet Consulate's Grandaughter in the Earlier Game then?

Who know what our writers will throw in? We have Chinese Stealth Suits in the game though.

Of course, you will be almost invisible with an activated stealth suit.

Silent Storm shows how to do it:

It's Fallout, it has to be 50's cluncky robot-future style.

Seriously, add one of these in-game. Make it a creative boss.... you meet him head on, and he's almost invulnerable, but he's rusty and too heavy, so he can't turn. So you can just run to his back and win the fight.

Had a meeting with a new, 3rd, musician today, transferred LOTS of content to our new private forums these last couple of days. Also went through ancient forum posts from BIS developers to find useful info. Now going back to mapping/art...

Had to send a 1.5 GB worldmap image to my friend. My notebook doesn't have enough memory to open it so he will do some editing :rpgcodex:

A 3D modeler and a writer join the team yesterday but Kane leaves. We are at 22 people right now.

Woah, that's a lot of people. Make sure you get someone to manage them and make sure they're doing what they are supposed to be doing.

It's not realistic to expect people to work hard on something they're not paid for. This is all done for fun and personal interests. That's why I've expanded the team recently and am grateful if only a small contribution to the game is being done - like for example how you started on the Legion's camp and now the other writer picked it up following in your footsteps. I started this all alone back in December and I never expected so much interest from other developers so I'm just enjoying the ride right now and I'm not taking things for granted. I've been making computer / pen & paper games for 12 years now so I've seen everything ;)

Not really, Killap has had a few dedicated helpers along the way. From writers, map makers, art makers, scriptors, 3d specialists (talking heads), etc...the Restoration Project has been in the making for about 8 years now and only now is it almost finished. The key is a good game designer, a central figure who keeps the project moving forward, and keep the egos in check.

Good luck Gents.

Thank you Pixote!
I understand exactly what you mean when you say that the egos should be in check. For example, the Russians had to postpone the development of their FOnline game for a few months because their main programmer wouldn't make any compromises, ever. Can you believe it?

The Problem is the Fallout Online engine even with High End computers, runs slowly and have more other Problems.

As far as I've seen the FOnline is slower because of the following:

- Enormous maps with lots of NPCs etc.
- Transparency all over the place
- Server overload

We won't have these problems as our maps are the size of Fallout 1/2 maps, we don't have that much transparent graphic and there is no online server since it's a single-player game. I expect the game to run as fast as Fallout 2 runs.
