The greatest travesty of the new models really has to be the barbarian.. What the hell happened?

He went from freak beast to your average gym rat who isn't even taking his "supplements" regularly. Is that supposed to be some superhuman idealised version of a musclebound barbarian or someone you walk past semi-regularly on the street?

Sad.

Apparently all of characters are baased now on real world people. Reason unknown probably they will shot some introduction cimematics for each class character before you start actually playing game. Necro is for example Charles Dance know from his role as Lanister in Game of Thrones.

Probably they will have to redo a lot of voices for game too considering it has been 20 years and getting rights to reuse a lot of voices is probably impossible as some of cast members could be dead or long after their carriere. Voice of Deckart Cain is still alive though.

Paladin - Keith David
Necromancer - Charles Dance
Barbarian - Fulgencio Batista
Sorceress - Diane Guerrero

Those are the one I've identified so far. I KNOW I've seen that Druid guy somewhere, but I still can't pin a name to this face.

HA! Found the most interesting one.

Amazon - Rhea Seehorn

Only Druid and Assassin left.

Seehorn is 48, so that software that judged the Amazons age at 47 is really accurate.

Is AoE2 DE worth playing?

No, it has worse netcode than old game and it is still filled with bugs. I tried to play it with 2 other dudes half a year ago and every second match someone would drop out after 25-40 minutes.

Single player is great though.

Yeah it seems like he is right. Looks like amazon in this photo. Just some wear and tear makeup and slightly more buff and that is her.

Wait... am I getting this right? People don't like it because a few of the models in the character selection screen don't look attractive?
No, people don't like it because it's lazy cash grab and the only thing they changed - made everyone ugly.

Just the Assassin and Druid left. The Druid is an American actor, and a well-known one, to boot, of that I'm sure. I just can't recall his name.

I genuinely wonder what people disappointed in the quality of this thread really expect when the two main points for getting this remaster are 1. Prettier graphics or 2. Console conversion. People here are notoriously hostile to console ports, so graphics are really the only thing worth talking about. Blizzard already closed off any possibility of gameplay changes or more quality of life changes beyond the handful they listed, so there is nothing left to speculate about in detail.

If you want to buy this depends almost entirely on how you feel about the graphics so people are talking about that, kind of a no brainer. Maybe it is just the casual use of all those scary isms that get people fired all the time that bothers people so much?

It is basically Diablo II with ugly women and a graphical mod for better particle effects, a hack job done in Unity style remake, underwhelming is an understatement.

There is nothing lazy about this. You might not like the direction they've gone in but it's clear that a lot of work has gone into this.

For remasters that are lazy cash grabs then look no further than at beamdog and the mass effect remaster.

I for one welcome pad support on PC. For ages i was against it until i actually tried D3 on console and i realized i tried to play twin stick shooters/beatemups with RTS aproach all this time which is how you play M+K arpgs. Playing arpg like Diablo or Grim dawn is just better on pad as you have decoupled character movement from targeting. Sure you lose superb accuracy of some attacks with pad but you gain on other hand better feel of hitting things and just playing game as you steer character directly instead of giving it orders like in rts/mmo. It took like 15 minutes to convert hardcore k+m denialism into full support. It is kind of like you try racing game with a wheel. You instantly know it is better for it than K+M.

K+M will have competetivness edge for sure but just playing for fun pad is just better suited. independent targeting from character movement and you directly moving charcter isntead of giving it orders is just better for gameplay feel.
