Notice how the engine lags badly when all those lighting effects occur.

Expect downgrades.

Again, this gray shit is supposed to be the scorching desert sun of Anauroch?

Yea theres something off with the contrast here.

Aren't there darker desert areas in the original version, though?

Theres the event with the sun vanishing but that looks different.

e: In the interest of honest hate, Act 2 wasn't super bright in the original either but they made it worse

two main points for getting this remaster are 1. Prettier graphics or 2. Console conversion.

I for one welcome pad support on PC. For ages i was against it until i actually tried D3 on console and i realized i tried to play twin stick shooters/beatemups with RTS aproach all this time which is how you play M+K arpgs. Playing arpg like Diablo or Grim dawn is just better on pad as you have decoupled character movement from targeting. Sure you lose superb accuracy of some attacks with pad but you gain on other hand better feel of hitting things and just playing game as you steer character directly instead of giving it orders like in rts/mmo. It took like 15 minutes to convert hardcore k+m denialism into full support. It is kind of like you try racing game with a wheel. You instantly know it is better for it than K+M.

K+M will have competetivness edge for sure but just playing for fun pad is just better suited. independent targeting from character movement and you directly moving charcter isntead of giving it orders is just better for gameplay feel.
It's not the controller.
diablo-like games play better with WASD movement than click-to-move.
there's only a handful of them that offer WASD support though

Yes. Also a day and night cycle. However two different instances in a row is suspicious as fuck.

On other and i would love pc arpgs to give you wsad movement for character leaving mouse for targeting only. It is clearly better way. Problem is that keyboard despite having shitload of keys sucks for quick access ergonomics wise. So with pad you can use modifier and have instantly access to triple amout of keys that are all nicely under your fingers instead of ankward dance with ctrl shift alt etc.

I wishe there would be keyboards with actual sticks. Fucking hate that it is 2021 and you can't have analog movement on PC in games. I think only star citizen and like two other games have run/walk under scroll which works pretty amazing.

What they should do is support modders with an API, but they won’t.

At this point introducing API would mean all modders would have to relearn everything anew. Instead they can use their old mods and modify them to fit new D2R as game uses D2 engine under that graphics.

They did say that they exposed a lot more for modding that was previously harcoded, like stamina bar and its effect on running/walk

...again messed up sun "drop" shadows because surroundings make you think its covered sun but the shadows are sharp (to be covered ) .
Same with dungeons (it's a mess).

I think 144hz and up hardware cursors can go a long way still ,don't see that much headroom elsewhere. Hell I could use 300 hz hardware cursors.

Here's mine

Interestingly, it looks much brighter in-game than on the still screenshot.

Noticed new thing in one of interview. All unique items will have 3D art instead of using generic style of armors with different recolors.

Making a less appealing face for a single model on a single screen is... censoring?

Don't you know? It goes like this:
  • Dev changes character
    • If change -> peepe harder = "dev grew and decided to improve on his product"
    • If change -> peepee no longer hard = "censorship"
And my favorite:
  • Random Internet user prettifies character with a sloppy Photsohop job -> "HIRE THIS MAN", "How can one anon in Photoshop do a better job than devs?"
Codex likes to pretend they are above SJWs, and yet Codex somehow manages to turn every single thread into an SJW thread. Trannies living rent free here.

Direct-feed gameplay footage.

40$ is a ripoff.
How exactly? Blizz is clearly putting significant work into the remaster. The price seems totally fine. We’re lucky they’re not charging $60

Sure would be nice if they showed actual gameplay by someone who knows the game and not some random low level bullshit.

Those animations are damned smooth, too bad about the cucked art direction.

Reality is the random dumbfuck on the internet with photoshop is probably more invested in this series than the intern at the company Blizzard outsourced this project to, that makes changes to peoples work on a game that is probably older than they are at this point.

Almost full squad.
Think we are just missing Dalekflay now.

WASD is better for action games that require twitch controls, ARPGs, despite the name are mostly trials for build testing, there are people who ran bots on Diablo II, that is how uninvolved the combat on those games are, Diablo II is ultra easy and has no end game. Twitch movement maybe is useful on some games like Grim Dawn deeper shards where some bosses attacks can one shot you and you need to dodge three at the same time but even there, KMB will get you killed less frequently. Gamepad is only maybe good for casual play but I honestly dont see the point.

Don't knock WASD movement until you try it. You can move + target at the same time instead of relying on the same input to move and target.
Basically, as Perkel said, it controls like a twin-stick shooter.

Im not complaining about armor and colors but the character looking as a man. You can have any setting and have a attractive female character even in gothic horror. Case in point Diablo 1 and 2.

The problem is the pattern of censorship and uglification of art in the West, Amazon looking as a man is completely intentional.

It's weird how people attribute to uglification and censorship (this one especially; do you even know what censorship is?) what can easily be attributed to "maybe a hardened Amazonian in the Diablo world wouldn't look like a Playboy doll".
