If the Chinese censors could comprehend what they were reading, they would have censored the game for the MI alone.

Censors are generally not very bright. That's why they're censors. It's a shit job, but somebody has to do it.

That's fake news. It passed censorship and is available on Chinese Steam. They told the censors it's about what happens when the people abandon Communism and submit to the liberal world order: alcoholism, corruption, poverty, drunks freezing to death in the streets. The censors loved it.

(And no, this one isn't shitposting.)
It is not far from reality tho :). I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes mandatory in chinkland :).

In 2019, Taiwanese-made horror game Devotion drew the ire of a significant number of Chinese gamers and the government when players discovered art assets that referenced a popular meme of comparing president Xi Jingping to Winnie the Pooh.

Random source:

Dear China,

Taiwan is the real China.

Regards,

Taiwan.

p.s: hahahaha Xi Jingping, fat-boy, eat too much sugar!!!11!

Disco Elysium Patch Notes 17.04.2020
Patch notes for version 38b5ff55

DISCO ELYSIUM Patch notes for version 38b5ff55 (viewable in the F1 menu, bottom right)
  • Fixed some empty lines in formatted text. No character says a single empty line.
  • Fixed some long text scrolling issues with different text sizes.
  • Some items look different when they are empty and when they are not. Now it shows correctly in game.
  • Underscore consistency fixes - underscores are now all proper underscores . If I may underscore it.
  • Some non-important message missing in some cases, like “Heal yourself”
  • Multiple thoughts appeared out of bound … we all know what that means, no?
  • And last but not least: Improvements in text layouts when changing text sizes. Not a small print.
Take care and stay safe folks! Remember to report bugs here.

Is Joyce Messier always...

giving up the harbor to that fuck Evrart?

She asks my opinion, I tell her to bring all the forces and whipe him out, she the tells me a story and at the end she says that she will listen to my advice (what?) and abandons the harbor in the hands of Evrart.

Is this the only option the game has?

Pretty much, I think it really is a manner of how much you can have her give Evrat.

At least now I know, why some Disco Elysium art seemed so familiar looking to me.

Kaspar Tamsalu created some great art for PARPG back in the day. Unfortunately the project went nowhere - for which in huge part my naivity about creating games was to blame. But it's great to see that Kaspar's art has come such a long way :)

Some of his art that he created for PARPG back in the day:

I hope Kaspar doesn't mind me posting this here.

On the actual topic: I just finished Disco Elysium over the weekend and I fucking loved it. I'm going for another playthrough soon.

I'm glad you liked Disco :D
Wow yeah PARPG was a while ago now! Great to hear from you! I actually did a concept inspired by something we were working on for PARPG for my test job when I applied for the concept artist position at ZA/UM

Glad things worked out for you :) Really loved the art (and the writing) in the Disco Elysium.

Somehow it gives the whole PARPG project (for me personally) a slightly new, greater meaning. I'm really looking forward to what ZA/UM will be doing next.
