An aristocrat, to exist, [requires] a thousand people to live in poverty basically for that level of [income disparity].
Sorry mr. Ulyanov but that is just false.
Yeah, that rubs me in all the wrong ways, especially considering the current political climate. It's actually worse with part you excised from your quote:
"An aristocrat, to exist, [requires] a thousand people to live in poverty basically for that level of [income disparity]. That means something it's a seesaw, so that's an abuse of power. The guards punching you in the mouth because you've backed up is an abuse of power."

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
Add to that the "we also increased the presence of female characters in the world" given as a proud declaration, and... I just hope it's not so overt as to break the atmosphere of the game completely.

A few straight simple questions:
1. Does crouching still equal "100% silent mode"? Is it still impossible to cause enough noise to alert a guard even if you're moving right behind his back, on the loudest surface, as long as you are crouched?
2. Can the player use shadows to hide as opposed to just obstacles?
3. Are the speeds of crouched and non-crouched movement unchanged from Dishonored? (judging from gameplay videos, yes)

Addressing these problems is part of what makes your game play more similar to Thief. I'm sick and tired of developers' namedropping one game knowing full well their game is based on a different philosophy and expects different things from the player, and by now seeing name dropping just makes me suspicious.
Arkane is the Looking Glass wannabe, of course they're going to mention Thief and System Shock. But if you want these issues to be addressed, first you need to destroy consoles, and everything related with it, which is probably as easy as building a time machine.

fuck it must get exhausting repeating the same spiel over and over again

Harvey probably reads this thread and noticed that the autists here go apeshit whenever he mentions Thief so he keeps repeating same things in every interview to troll Codex.

To be fair, it's not like mentions of Thief mean much to average contemporary gamer or to most journos. They will mean something to people who actually played and are familiar with those games, and those are the kind of people that will then make direct comparisons between Thief and Dishonored in various areas.

Codex 2014

“One more time, old friend.”

Fifteen years later the Royal Protector Corvo Attano is back in action, and it looks like he’s just gotten better (and stronger) with age. His still has his familiar powers, but they’ve all gotten quite the upgrade since the original Dishonored launched in 2012. Corvo’s Blink ability now allows you to pause time as you choose your destination. Possession can now be chained from host to host, allowing Corvo to slip through an area unnoticed in a completely new way. Bend Time now allows you to completely control the flow of time, slowing and advancing it as you need. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. See more of Corvo’s abilities in a new action-packed trailer – and get a peek at what’s behind the conflict that draws Corvo back into the fray.

Will you continue Corvo’s journey in Dishonored 2, or will you step into a new pair of polished boots as the regal yet lethal Empress Emily Kaldwin? The choice is yours when Dishonored 2 launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on November 11.

So now Corvo it's even more powerful?
Fuck, this is going a super easy game, even more than the predecessor.

We'll see about that, from the start it looked like like they were focused on improving AI and its capabilities, and on introducing more demanding new enemy types, rather that on nerfing the player's own abilities (which would have been easier path to take anyway).

Gotta appeal to all the CoD kiddies.
Also unless Corvo is voiced by Jean-Paul Audrain (Garrett's VA in French, who did an excellent job) there's no point in playing the French version.
