:hmmm: They needed to make an editor. Not to mention an RTS. Obsidian have their own engine too - it's something every serious company should consider.

Larian have been working on the game since before the KS boom. Using Unity probably didn't even occur to them, as most of the high profile the engine currently enjoys is due to Fargo & co.

Graphic engines are shit in general. Text-based rpgs need to return. :smug:

I'm pretty sure they are competent enough to decide on their own whether a licensed engine or one they program themselves is better suited for them.

The Larian game play demo reminded me of that unigine game demo.

This one.



The Larian video just showed me how boxes could be moved and some multi player decision making shit. I don't give a fuck if your in house engine can move boxes, I'm interested in the game itself.
