Bulldog didnt exactly play that well though, walking into him when MK already had his full bonus damage, while having little reactive armour up (5 isnt exactly that much), the wave already pushing onto him and he still had blightstone up aswell. Timber isn't that tanky early on until he can get 2 points into reactive armour and stay at 10 stacks. Couldve played that one a whole lot better (and most likely not die either).

he had 2 points into reactive armour. He was level FOUR. he is a melee hero - how is MK not going to get stacks? So basically, never get any cs? Hahaha.

Having 2 points in reactive armour and having max stacks are two different things. I would imagine timber vs MK to be one of the hardest lanes for timber, since he kind of has to tank creepwaves to get stacks up which is a risky endeavour against 300range melee hero that gets bonusdmg once you stack up high enough. Quite similar to Ursa actually, only that MK has the advantage of having superior range and a stun. MK will be a strong force mid in the upcoming weeks until people start countering him properly.

Reddit still defending it, roofles. I asked one of the 'you can counter him' guys in comments about his mmr... guess what, 1890.
You don't have to go to that far ;), we got our very own Codexers to tell us that Bulldog could have played better, Zai could have played better, etc. L2p pleb.

edit: here's the first of many

7.01

* Fixed Jingu Mastery ignoring armor for its lifesteal calculation
* Jingu Mastery counter duration reduced from 15 to 10 seconds
* Boundless Strike critical strike rescaled from 200% to 140/160/180/200%

So the most hilarious thing for me right now is the lvl 25 unkillable QoP build. She gets 75% spellsteal at level 25, so the build is something like Octarine Radiance Blademail Dagon 5 - she's nearly unkillable and impossible to deal with if you don't have instant hexes and 3 other chain stuns on your team. Pretty funny.

Doesn't work all the time of course, it's a snowball build that pretty much requires a midas and a roflstomp early game to come online fast enough, but it's so worth it when it does work. The downside is that subpar players want to meme like the best, so you'll occasionally get these sad QoPs with nothing but brown boots, midas and a soul booster 35 minutes into the game, but that's par for the course.

What do you mean, don't do enough damage? She also has 40% reduction with Octarine + lvl 15 talent, that's a Dagon 5 every 9 seconds (800 damage), scream of pain (320 damage) every 4 seconds, dagger every 2.5 seconds (!! - that's a 425 damage dot that you can apply every 2 seconds basically. Think about it), not to mention the Blademail every 10 seconds, which means anyone who attacks you dies while you heal up to full (remember, you have 100% spell lifesteal with Octarine + talent - it works on Blademail). Plus radiance burn on top. And you can Sonic Wave every 80s (470 pure damage) to open/close a fight.

That's a fuckton of damage. BKB doesn't matter because she just doesn't die and can do it all over again once all BKB charges are down. Oh, and she can chase and run infinitely because she can blink every 3.5 seconds with that build. The only really limiting factor is mana regen.

This won't work. BM is reflects damage with same type of damage.

Thread is pretty dead, huh?

7.02 - Monkey King gets nerfed for the 4th time in a row.

Monkey King:
* Base armor reduced by 3
* Jingu Mastery bonus damage from 80/120/160/200 to 75/100/125/150
* Wukong's Command no longer continues while reincarnating

He was totally fine before guys! L2P!

And it it still not suficient. The concept of the hero is retarded. His first skill is a fissure which crits. His ulti lasts too long. And 7.0 is an horrible meta. Invisi everywhere. Imba farming or fast pushing. You have to pubtrain and stick as 5. Imo the patch ruined Dota. I won't even comment on the balance of talents, like LC 25 which forces you to end before she can reach it.

What do you guys build on SF these days? I usually go Lothars Dragon Lance into BKB(if needed)/Hurricane Pike and then whatever I feel like. It feels sort of awkward though because I often find myself wanting another defensive item as well, like Satanic, Linken, BFly, Manta etc., which leaves me low on damage for a fairly long while. I should mention that this is at ~5k mmr.

Well idk what to tell you since pretty much all SF's got is built-in free damage (now doubled with that souls talent), building semi-defensive (stat heavy) items like bfly and manta is a given even if you are snowballing, since as they used to say back in wow days "dead people don't do any damage". If you feel like it's your job to burst people down past the first 20 minutes either you or your team are doing something wrong.

Pike Agha or Pike skadi will bring you all the defense you need on SF. Satanic is good if you can't land your ulti easily and rely on auto attacks. Manta and Butterfly are not that good for sf. They don't bring you enough.

That's just wrong though, Bfly is often a required item lategame and Manta lets you splitpush / dodge stuff, and it also has fairly decent stats. Agha seems to do too little compared to other items imo.

Pros always build buttefly on SF because its a great item. Gives mobility, evasion, a big chunk of damage and armor.

Manta just to dodge/dispel stuff tho. You cant split with manta on SF.

From what I have observed the usual pro SF build is lance/pike/bkb into buttefly and then satanic/linken or some more damage.
