(radial menu for MIA/Danger/Help/Attention) in paticular is a godsend.

Those Riot guys sure come up with some original stuff!
Yeah it's not like any one implemented a superior version of this previously in a similar game.

Just because it's not a world first doesn't mean it hasn't made the game better. The point I was getting across is that in the time between 2 DotA2 champs, LoL is getting:
- 3 new champions
- 1 remake (abilities, model, animations, sound) of an existing, unpopular champion
- 3 new game features
- 2 major graphical tweaks
- 1 new map + matchmaking queue for it
- Bunch of bugfixes and balance tweaks

I guess that goes to show which developer is most committed to maintaining and updating their game. :smug:
But hey! You still get the dubious pleasure of listening to the voices of the scum you get stuck with in the matchmaking queue, while us unfortunate lollers have to "settle" for only seeing their text.

They can update whatever they want, more champs, funny chatwheels, new looks, doesnt make the game worth playing in comparision to dota.

Well dota added few new heroes but we did get new features, especially in the spectator area. And some graphical remakes on skills and heroes.

Bristle is great. vanguard/wand/treads and you can kill almost any hero on their tower mid-game. After your done dominating you radi and just rack up random kills during teamfights, ++ing your hp till gg

I actually killed some low HP dex heroes by just running from them and spamming "Thorns" :) a dangerous bastard and hard to kill.

I saw Bristleback twice in matches, seemed kinda OP.

dota would be nicer if they removed the (apparently intentional) input lag and the FUCKHUEG UI

fucking icefrog and his traditionalism
It would be playable if I didn't have to redownload it after every patch. Otherwise it freezes on loading screen. And if I start reinstalling, naturally Steam doesn't offer reasonable, stable download speed, dropping from decent speed to sub 100kBps and making download take ages.

I have played a game against him yesterday, since i had never played dota 1 he seemed strong. But I think, after beating his Team (they had one leaver), with bristle its more a question of adapting to him meaning to have to actually positioning oneself in order to kill him. Hes not that hard to kill, but he was more annoying the first time then many other heroes ive seen especially the you get slower he gets faster part.

baiting people to popping spells into your dmg reducing behind is the key to playing him good. Its a good feeling to tank half of the other teams spells and then turn them, running them down with snot and spikesplosions.

Wiki says all damage. So spells should only hit hard if coming from the front. Even dots (according to the wiki) tick for less if you turn your back to the source

Yes unless it was changed since I migrated to dota 2 it was all damage. Otherwise he wouldnt be picked so often in pro games - those games are always full of nukes.

I had quite a few negative misconceptions about this type of game, but a few friends recently coaxed me into giving this one a try and I have to admit it's actually very good. My favorite so far is Faceless Void, but I've yet to play all the characters. Are the bots good practice in the higher difficulty settings, or are they just a waste of time?

Also, n00b tips are welcome.

Bots wont help you learn the game, + you're in the noob bracket, so you might as well play against other noobs.

Bots are better then noobs. Not to learn the game, but the few bot games I had the bots actually where way more dangerous then actual players in this bracket. But I would recommend, single draft games, because in this mdoe you are forced to try different heroes and not tempted to choose one and the same over and over again. but m a noob too so what do I know

What do you mean by "the extra moneys"? I've only played with friends against bots, so I'm unaware of whatever persistent progression metagame there might be which would involve "extra moneys".

There's no metagame. It's just that when you random a hero you get an extra 250 gold to start with. Think of the act of manually picking a hero costing you 250 gold, basically.
