You can't play a game with DLC unless you are logged in on the game with your BioWare account, and have entered the key to unlock the DLC on their site. If you internet were to go out during a storm you'd have to start a new game without DLC to even play DA. Unless someone finds a way to trick the server into validating the DLC.

My pirated DLC works just fine. Check the Pirate Bay.

waitaminutewaitaminutewaitafuckingminute...

how is this shit a ripoff for the thousands of people who really want additional content for their games? do you think these people would be happier without it? and where do you draw the line for charging money for a thing? as if it's very hard to pirate the goddamn DLC for any game if you're really not that into supporting the company. fuck, even the idiotic and embarrassing quality of the DLC for FO3 was warranted because thousands of drooling retards wanted to see fucking aliens. and this is the fucking company's fault? what the fuck is wrong with you guys?

holy fuck you children can be dense sometimes.

i've never paid for DLC and i don't intend to. let me say that first. but when i saw that in the game (campfire scene) i thought it was actually kind of cool (for ease of access sake). like, ok. they're going to release a certain amount of DLC anyway, right? fuck you, don't answer. yes, they are. so they leave some immediate options for the people who actually care enough about the game to want "MOAR!" to get it right away.

face it, we live in a society with an ever increasing need for immediate gratification. i don't see anything wrong with this content or the manner in which it's available. like i said...if you don't actually WANT to support the company and aren't hopelessly naive...then it's not a problem getting this shit installed on your system. and who the fuck decided extra content needed to be available after a certain amount of time spent waiting for it?

I'm gonna opt out of that because I don't want to face the cold truth that I just wasted money(Not by buying the DLC but the actual game).

Let me help. The DLC was on trackers within a day of release--all nineteen or so of them. They work perfectly; I don't have an account with which to log on, and don't allow my copy of DA to connect to the Internet even.

Even better foir those who don't want to ebs cumbag fuckin' thieves...

Don't like DLCS? Think they're a rip off? Buy the game, and don't mouch the DLC. Pproblem fuckin' solved.

I mean seriously, FFS, the arrogance of fuckin' thieves who actually believe they deserve stuff for free. Anyone who claims they steal games for moral reason is bullshitting, plain and simple. Self serving bullshit. So not only are you fuckin' scumbag thieves you are also scumbag liars. FFS!

Fuck that fuckin' care dealership. That care for 100k is a fuckin' rip off! I'm gonna fuckin' steal it! FFS!

Fuck that Interplay! Selling a nearly 15 year old game for $20. What a fuckiin' rip off! I'm gonna go steal me a copy of FO1.

FFS You guys are fuckin' stupid.

"But this is 0day DLC. If thats not a scam then I don't know what is."

You apparantly don't know what a scam is, tool. BIO/EA advertises $7 for the WK DLC, and you knoww aht you get when you pay that $7? The WK DLC. THAT'S NOT A SCAM.

A scma is those stupid emails you get that state: 'PAY $1000 TO CLAIM YOUR ONE MILLION LOTTERY WINNING' and then you don't get it. THAT'S A FUCKIN' SCAM, MORON.

How the hell cna't you tell the difference.

When you pay the money to get something and you get that in return, it's not a fuckin' scam.

Common sense. Why do you morons not have any of that?

DLC's are excellent ideas. They allow developers to give players content that should have been in the original game for an extra charge relatively quickly. If you don't want it, don't buy it. Stupid DLC's like horse armor, hey if there is a market for it, go for it. Kind of ironic though that you could buy horse armor, but couldn't actually fight on horseback.

Well, some people don't like being ripped off. But whatever, Socialism for big business, capitalism for the rest of us, right?

lol. You have it ass backwards. This is capitalism, socialism would be what you want, everyone gets the same thing for nothing. I swear 90% of the people who rant about capitalism have no earthly idea what it is.

No... you just didn't understand what I was saying.

People are conditioned to mindlessly give their money away to corporations without thinking, to practically worship them like they can do no wrong and defend their right to charge more and more for less and less fanatically. These people act without thought or even self interest saying things like, "They don't owe you anything. (so stop complaining that you were not given what was advertised)" and "Well they have to make money. (so they have to charge ten dollars more for less)"

These people are treating corporations like we live in a socialist system where we must accept things we don't like and pretend to anyway for the greater good or something. But to the companies they're just a means to profit, who happen to be particularly gullible. Hence, socialism for corporations, capitalism for the rest of us.

WTF? Are you on crack? Who actually thinks like that? Seriously, FFS, this is bullshit.

You should buy things you want and need at the price you feel is fair. But, if you cna't afford it then fuck the abck off and don't steal.

For someone to be a thief that would imply they would have paid for it if not having pirated it. For most pirates that isn't the case. However I won't go as far as to say I pirate games for moral reasons(I actually bought DA), I only do so because I'm normally broke.

Why on earth would anyone echo Volourn? That's like echoing someone taking a shit.

Anyway, I wasn't advocating piracy. I was saying that most people don't do exactly what Volourn was saying they should. They just mindlessly buy.

You're free to think that, but frankly I don't give a damn what you think of me, the only person I care to please when pirating games is myself.

"They just mindlessly buy."

Utter bull that you can't back up.

"For someone to be a thief that would imply they would have paid for it if not having pirated it."

Nope. It's theft no matter what. You take something that belongs to someone else without permission is theft. plain, and simple.

Oh, did you see the limo? I'm gonna steal it... but, it's not really stealing because if I hadn't stolen it I would never have bought it, anyways.

What kind of fuckin' logic is that? It's retarded.

The 'gimme' extras (the ones that just appeared in your inventory, like the Luck Stone) were out the day after the game was released. The rest were released half-way cracked.

About two days later, they were all cracked and working just fine.

Stone prisoner was actually cut from the game before they announced the PC delay (to finish the console versions and such).
Since they now had some extra time, it seems that they decided to give it away for free as an incentive to buy or preorder the game new (apparently early preorders are a big deal for game developers).
It also counters the second-hand market for games at certain retail stores, which means that more profits will actually go to the developers and not Gamestop etc. This doesn’t seem that bad to me.

Warden's Keep was similarly affected by the delay; it began development on the assumption that it would be finished several months after the PC version’s intended release date.
Therefore, development of DLC was separate from the original campaign, and thus the staff specifically assigned towards the development of new DLC need to be paid separately.
The console-lead delay only makes it appear as though Warden's Keep was part of the original campaign, and was instead deliberately left out to make some cash from Day 0 DLC purchases (well, allot of you dumbcunts seem to think that's the case anyway).

Probably because they have an NPC advertising it in the game.

Ah hell who am I kidding, most people here are probably just jumping blindly on the bandwagon and don't even have any actual reasoning or evidence to support their stance.

@shoelip.

People are conditioned to mindlessly give their money away to corporations without thinking

What people? Who the fuck is being conditioned to mindlessly give their money to corporations? Give 3 examples of people you know that are doing this? Unless you live in a mental institution you won't find any. People spend their money on this shit because its what they want, regardless of whatever you make up as reasons to why they buy it.

Even if each year a game company gave you less and less "game" for your money. Buying it is not a mindless decision. If a game actually did give you less and less, there will be a point when you may decide it's not worth it. Would you pay $60 for 2 hours of gameplay? Some people might, most probably wouldn't.

But this is 0day DLC. If thats not a scam then I don't know what is.

Not sure if you are referring to Dragon Age. But how is it a scam if they were able to complete the game they envisioned and also create additional content they planned to sell later? Are you simply taking a cynical view of the game company who made the game (which I can understand) or do you have any actual evidence to back up your claim?
