Oh man. You should provide the full context for this sentence.

So he basically just called Bioware's entire female fanbase shallow? I hope that bites him on his ass.

These are the same people who refuse to play The Witcher because Geralt is a pre-established heterosexual male whom they cannot project their degenerate sexual fantasies upon, so he's not entirely wrong.

Since its possible to fuck thane in Mass effect I wouldnt bet on the fact that a large part of the vocal female fanbase would not like the nameless one. If they can fuck him.

Has to brofist our resident Mossad agent if You're not sexual deviant/white male you won't find nothing for yourself in future Biowhore games. Hope they'll feel the backslash cause it is 30+-40+ CISprivileged persons like me who have interest and most cash to actually buy cRPGs.

We these types running things, there is absolutely no hope in bioware making a decent rpg again.

But, hey they's always a chance for good laugh for a month or two, like with anything bioware released lately

Attaching PIN code to your cash card is NOT stupid, it just makes your money moar accessible.

Still preaching this same old shit, eh Dave?

I like their games more than a lot of people here do but I still want to see Bioware fall at this point just because they're such perfect examples of mainstream-focused idiocy. Make great games and build an audience? No. Make niche games and budget accordingly? No. Focus on a core aspect of your game and make it excellent for everyone, then niche the rest? No. Instead they try and make their games appeal to everyone on the planet, chasing the impossible dream, pandering the ultimate pander, hoping marketing will complete the sellout. Meanwhile their development budget skyrockets due to in-office pool tables and endless pointless meetings in corporate glory.

Stop trying to make everyone happy Dave and your games might actually have artistic vision and merit.

That's not his call to make. :P

Also there's no way in hell any Bioware game would ever have artistic merit regardless of whom they're targeting.

With a well-thought-out marketing strategy, proper community handling, good PR/damage control, somewhat competent staff, and a decent game without any unredeemable fuck-ups they could actually succeed - at least to some, yet still satisfying, extent (vide Bethesda). UnFortunately, neither of the mentioned Bioware can get right; their pre-release marketing is a bunch of obsolete huckster tricks, their community site is a street fighter, and their recent games either sucked beyond denial (DA2), or unleashed probably the biggest backslash in gaming history. Oh, and about the competence just think of ME3; without those moronic endings - that anyone with half of a brain could predict would unleash a Middle-earth worth shitstorm (and folks actually did due to the script leaks) - or at least a proper handling of the fallout thereafter that still could have been turned into a benefit, this game would be a huge success despite all of its other flaws that emotionally engaged bandwagon passengers would stifle. No, instead they went into this Artistic Integrity™ nonsense eventually embarrassing themselves even more.

I'm pretty sure these guys don't even have a fucking PR division. Having developers moderate the forums and basically outright tell the fans that they don't care about the decisions they made in DA:O, having a fat asian man hang around there 24/7 to shut down threads that have even the slightest hint of negativity, and actually have the balls to blame the fans for the poor reception to the ME3 fiasco shows that their understanding of the trade is fucking amateur at best.

Neither does their male audience, probably. "I can't select my gender/appearance, what the hell, this isn't an RPG."
