The bigger the budget, the more you need to sell, the more of an audience you need, and it's not necessarily [...] that core audience that is most focused on the game, and thus you're gonna have to make some concessions on how you write it. There are numerous things that that affects [...], maybe you need to be more visual, maybe you can't expect the player to read more [....] There are fans that enjoy having a game ask things of them and I think it would be fair to say that the larger audience [...] many of them don't want that necessarily. And that's not to say they want it to be easy or they want something that's "dumb" or not challenging, what they want is something that's more accessible [...] those compromises tend to be the things that the core audience like the most, right? They enjoy having things asked of them, they enjoy being challenged ,and I think that definitely has merit.
