Silly baby arm. Fan-made Youtube videos are not news.

looking at it after reading codex comment actually made me expect much more. near the end of the video i was thinking "is that it?"

ive seen worse. so what if they put gore in the game. it aint that bad anyhow, at least not as bad as FO3's where creatures get gibbed by a headshot.

the sex, i dont mind that either. you can usually just say no to those if you dont like em. only thing i dont like about their recent takes on romance is that usually the romance options for your pc throw themselves at you. but hey, even that happens IRL.

as long as the game doesn't approach jRPG-level dialogue stupidity then the less-savory aspects are tolerable IMO.

They just seem so lost, like they've forgotten how to make fun games. They seem so caught up in provoking a reaction through shock, instead of growing a fan base through quality. I'm just sorta bummed, because it seems like Bioware doesn't know what to do, so it's just sorta flailing around for attention.

The video itelf was great; but definiotely over the top which, of course, was the whole point of a video termed 'Violence'.

However, that song is one worst songs ever. I hope it will not be in the actual game 'cause that will make DA's soundtrack the worst BIO game soundtrack ever on that one song alone.

That was fucking awful. If violence is going to be a big part of your game, do it right. Gears or War and Ninja Gaiden 2 are the way to do things violently. Head shots, shotgun "juicings", chainsaws, Obliteration Techniques, and the Vigoorian Flails/Tonfa Ultimate Techniques are the best in video game brutality. If you're going to appeal to the baser side, put up something good, not just a lot of red mist and mediocre animations.

Agreed. What is funny is, EA has NO FUCKING IDEA how to market an RPG. So they just decided to "what works".

Dragon Age! It's an RPG..................... oh! And it has violence... and sex! BUT IT TODAY!

Amusingly enough, there seem to be quite a few people on the Dragon Age forums themselves going "Bioware are you fucking retarded?"

Ah, so now we know what VD intends to do with that marketing money he's been soliciting. It all makes sense.

As for this being a fan-made video:

*Warning* May contain spoilers.

*Second Warning* Contains killer Marilyn Manson score

*Final Warning * Contains blood. Not for the faint hearted or weak stomached. If you're not tough enough to handle our game, turn back now.

The core of the BW fanbase was from the BG era indicating a certain degree of taste. While nothing they do should suprise us anymore (yeah, I'm including myself in the hangers on) sometimes they outdo themselves with the bullshit.

I'm with Zomg on this. The dorkarific shoulder pads ruin any promise the game might otherwise offer.

At that point, they usually go for the ancient "Pre-order now and your toon will get the osum sikrit Shouldrepads of Overcompensation!" kung-fu technique.

But christ, for all the violence in their entertainment, the modern audience is sorely lacking a war or two. Or, at least, to get severely maimed.
Also, the trailer has drawn to the logical conclusion what the game's development's been leading up to. Refreshing, after the years of lies and misconceptions.

Oh, fucking whatever, Bioware! Give me a damn break. Has anyone else noticed that game development houses don't have any self respect anymore? Everyone is either SUPEREXTEEM or they're a bunch of fucking clown-shoes. I think it's to do with the transparency that so many developers maintain on the development of new products these days. Most everyone is telling the public what's going on at any given time so they all have to be in the spotlight and even try to make the development of the game entertaining to us. It doesn't work though. We end up with shoddy, half-assed crap like this, and eventually they dump so much time and effort into the instant-gratification nature of their three-year advertising campaign that the dumb-fuck nature of the advertising spills over into game design.

Fucking decline.

BioWare didn't have any composers or in-game music that fit?

With the money they spent on music royalties in their trailers, you could make one indie RPG.

But fuck, this song is the perfect theme song for DA:

Everything's been said before
There's nothing left to say anymore
When it's all the same
You can ask for it by name

Babble, Babble, Bitch, Bitch
Rebel, Rebel, Party, Party
Sex, sex, sex, don't forget the violence
Blah, blah, blah
Got your lovey-dovey sad and lonely
Stick your stupid slogan in
Everybody sing along
Babble, Babble, Bitch, Bitch
Rebel, Rebel, Party, Party
Sex, sex, sex, don't forget the violence
Blah, blah, blah
Got your lovey-dovey sad and lonely
Stick your stupid slogan in
Everybody sing along

Are you motherfuckers ready for the new shit?
Stand up and admit it, tomorrow's never coming
This is the new shit
Stand up and admit it
Do we need it? NO!
Do we want it? YEAH!
This is the new shit
Stand up and admit it

Probably not the way they meant it to be understood :)

Naked Ninja - seriously serious or best troll ever?
Why? Your comment sounds as if you enjoyed it, too ;)
I'm with Edward, if you put violence, gore and sex into your game, do it right.

And now one of the developers - the one that posted the video - is having a hissy fit because people are saying they have a negative view of the game because of it.

Looks like Bioware never mastered choices and consequences in real life.

Well, I did enjoy it. I enjoy blood and violence, always have. As have most of humanity throughout history. More throwing knives into people's throats, please.

Which isn't to say that I enjoy shit combat, or tedious amounts of filler combat. But violence itself, yeah, I dig it.

Nor does it imply that violence is the only thing I like, before some dumb kid goes there.

(Is Skyway in this thread yet btw? Only a matter of time...)

As to this being a decline of Bioware...the first couple of videos they showed were of the world, the characters, dialogue and some changes in the gameplay path based on origin background, ie story and roleplay stuff. And now, a bit down the line, after posting roleplaying-related content (whatever your opinion of that content), they post some toungue-in-cheek video about violence and sex set to a Manson song about violence and sex...and you guys get up in arms about it?

I'd say "Get a grip" but experience leads me to believe that grips will not be got around here. So carry on, you lulzy soldiers you, this calls for Garry's mod pics and 'shopped photos of Gaider! :salute:
