I'm glad to see that the Bioware community is giving them hell for this. I halfway expected them to be all positive and happy-go-lucky about it like they usually are about everything, but seeing their replies proved me wrong. A couple of them are being retards ("teh gaem wil be moar polished if it getz another 6 months lolol"), but the majority aren't. I sincerely hope this will hurt EA's sales. But maybe that's a bit too optimistic.

" You seem to hate pirates out of a pure moral base, don't you hate liars, hypocrate?"

Prove that they lied instead of simply having things change.

Ultimately, the sales charts will show who is the idiot. If you disagree with this practice, don't buy their game, and they may get the message.

But no the Codex will buy an Bioware game no matter what, so, like Volourn said, they have only some fake moral superiority to claim.

Hmm? KotOR was the last BiowEAr game I bought (and played). DA is the first Bio game in years that sounds interesting to me. Now they are trying their best to push me into piracy... But I'm still undecided on that. Maybe I'll simply wait and give them some time to fuck up more. Pro tip: DLC of stuff that should have been in in the first place, intrusive DRM, a consolised game, bad performance/bugs and 18 hours max from start to finish will do the trick.

They do? I skimmed over the related thread and most Biowhores seemed to be more like "gee, that's too bad, but I'm sure they did it so they can polish the game more."

I seriously don't understand why some of you see this as a bad sign? I don't. I want polish, polish and polish.

Witcher is Polish.

Skim some more, my friend. Some of them almost sound like Codexians.

Same here, and that's a good thing.

Because unlike, say skyway or Lestat, you did not consecutively buy Jade Empire and then Mass Effect, simply so that you could later regret the experience. :P

The fact is, even if we don't, much of the Codex tends to buy Bioware games no matter what. The Codex would probably be one of Bioware's biggest fanbase online, if you look at it in terms of sales.

I seriously don't get it. These guys say they did not like KotOR, but it didn't stop them from buying and playing Jade Empire SE. And they didn't like that either, but they still bought and played Mass Effect afterwards.

I'm not sure everyone on the Codex who played JE and ME, you know, bought either game.

Basically, EA is saying that this is done for marketing reasons (if you read between the lines); simply because Bioware probably were aiming for a release around sept 2009; the console release were probably ariund dec 1st 2009... And since EA seems to be doing not so great these days; well it sort of makes sense to pull the marketing money together... and release for all three platforms at the same time...

As for my PC it has its 6th birtday sometime in August 2009 (the 25th, I think it is). I hope I can save enough money to buy a new videocard...

You haven't upgraded your computer in six years?

Instead of buying a new video card, you should probably go ahead and just get a new machine. Get a dual-core processor and a motherboard that is upgradeable to Quad-core. This shit's incredibly cheap now.

I bought them both used. I had plenty of critical complains about both, but as far as my $15 went - I was happy with both of them. Casual games at a casual price!

Wasn't that one argument people used to defend piracy in general? Free advertising *g*

Sorry for the offtopic (this once at least), but that just jumped at me^^

I'm sure the vast majority did. The bottom line is some Codexers go on, and on how shitty BIO is yet they continue to buy and/or play their games. Games are supposed to be fun so mya dvice is don't buy or play games from companies you dislike and whose games you don't enjoy. Hence why I have not bought either Oblivion or FO3. It's a retarded waste of money *and* time.

Anyway, this proves once again that PC gamers are treated like second class compared to the console crowd. The industry bigshots like EA just don't give a fuck anymore. Some people even find it it hard to believe there was a game designed primarily for the PC (at least until recently). So EA was quick to put things back in order. "What a major RPG title released first to the PC? No we can't allow that happening. It'll be against everything EA stands for. It won't look good for our console flock" (Indeed there were even complaints in forums by the console morons that EA treats PC gamers favorably).

This would have never happened the other way around. For most people today PC=MMORPG and that's it.

How do you blame Microsoft more than anyone else?

Because Microsoft has facilitated everything that has happened in the last 5-6 years with the XBox, going so far as to pay developers like Epic and Bioware to not make PC games, or at least delay them a long time. The original XBox was literally just a gimped gaming PC. It was designed to get developers to migrate away from the PC to make games for a closed platform, in effect, destroying PC gaming. That part of the strategy has worked perfectly.

To an extent, but the writing was on the wall before Microsoft came along. They were just copying Sony, who was copying Nintendo, who was copying Atari (the old one). All are part of a trend towards specialization in the economy, which is inevitable.

Except Sony, Nintendo and Atari weren't letting console shit get on computers and even if it did it always were failing.

Notice how PC gaming declined when Microsoft literally overfilled PC marked with ports of b-class dumbed down console shit from XBawks together with retarded hype.

STFU with your whineyness, Emosan.

"WAAA! WAA! I'm treated as a second class citizen because my platform of choice isn't having its dick suck! WAA WAAA!"

Get over it.

M$ simply did it first, imo. It was clear that the market was moving away from the PC and onto the console, so it was only a matter of time.

Volourn's continued presence is the largest proof of Codex hypocrisy. He does nothing but troll, but codex regulars still respond to him as if they can somehow get anything out of it but an increase in the number of search results for the words "moron", "period", and "roofles".

Having an unpopular opinion is NOT trolling. Someone with a double digit IQ should know that... do YOU have a double digit IQ?
