Maybe it's changed since launch but it seemed like most of the storyfags on reddit were on suicide watch over how bad the story is, and since the combat is apparently also bad-to-mediocre depending on who you ask I'm not sure what kind of -fag it was intended for (do hair physics fags exist?)

That's a pretty big difference, whether you have some woke bits and pieces in an otherwise interesting story that is about something, or the whole thing is nothing but a woke power-fantasy that appeals to no one besides reddit landwhales and trannies.
The quality of the series nosedived if Veilguard is objectively the second best entry. I refuse to believe that Veilguard is better than DA2 and I fucking hated that game.
A single orlesian Denerim was a big deal (that Orlesian did not wear a retarded mask from Inquisition, by the way).
I mean, it depends on how you define an 'objective' rating. Personally I quite liked DA2 for what it did given how rushed it was. Veilguard is more cohesive from its hub style (neither unfinished like DA2 nor padded like Inquisition's open world) to combat (Inquisition being a transitory phase towards Veilguard's action style combat, DA2 being still mostly faithful to DAO style combat mechanically). Story and C&C are shite, but they're consistent - so while subjectively I don't like it, it's 'objectively' better from the perspective of some action RPG slop.
Fereldans also react with suspicion and mistrust when you play as the Orlseian Warden in Awakening. The modern devs completely forget or don't want to touch nationalism and focus on racism. Lately even racism became too edgy for modern devs, no fictional racism in Veilguard, Starfield and the Outer Worlds.
Non-hardened Leliana is canon for me.
