i reckon they are done. You cant unwind a decade of hiring activists and then expect to take a new direction and put out non-political content. They will go riding straight down with the ship, in the case of Obsidian they back their art director, they are unapologetic, the company stands by that viewpoint.

ya popcorn ready, next move is mass layoffs and the formation of a new MS studio / brand made up of the dregs of these companies. Even then it doesn't guarantee success, they get one shot and if its another abysmal woke slop game its gonna be the same results.

Also just think, would you want to work for one of these companies? I sure asf wouldn't no matter the money.

I think that if you hired all the decent game developers (not activists) from California, you would at best gather people for two AAA studios, and that's an optimistic estimate. Not that Canada is any better at it.

I hope that this circus of Western AAA failures will continue for at least a few more years, a repeat of the market collapse would be useful.
Those who fail will do so of their own accord, somehow Eastern games can sell even if they are not exceptionally good.
