Honestly, now that the game is actually out, it's no longer fun to talk about it.

It was fun to comment on the game's absurdities, to see the hysterical reaction from both sides. And also to see some Codexers show their edgy and extremist side, it reminded me of my nephew when he would say some idiotic absurdities and my brother would swear that "I don't know where he learned this" - on the internet no doubt. But it's still, curious to see adults trying to say "offensive" things like 9-year-old children. I imagine they must be very proud of how they can say what they think. So hardcore, dudes.

Similarly, it was curious to see the absurdities written by Bioware. Not that they've ever been the beacon of good writing, and I didn't have much expectation from the start, but seeing practical and real examples of the abysmal level they've reached is impressive. I had already read news and research that points out that the literacy of adults in the new generation is horrifying - that many reach college without having even read a single whole book in their lives. And I didn't doubt it (because I see the clear effects of this in the interns I've hired in recent years), but this game made me really internalize it.

I've never seen such poorly written dialogue in my life in a professional environment. Fanfics on the internet? Sure. Self-published books by random people on Amazon? That too. But in a multi-million dollar production where the focus is on dialogue? Yeah, recent Disney and Marvel movies have their stupid points, but I think I've never seen such an intense and evident concentration of incompetence. It left me amazed, not to the point of wanting to play it, God no, but to see it happening.

And also to see how so many other people seem to be ready to consume this content without even seeing how abysmal it all is. At this point, this whole catastrophe is ceasing to be fun and funny to talk bad about, and it's starting to be depressing. I think this is my exit point, it was good while it lasted, but unless something new happens, I don't think it will continue to be interesting to slap Veiguard. It's dead, and seeing the vultures feasting on the carrion is a bit too disgusting to keep watching.

Let's use Forspoken as an example. The game was an utter failure, right? Yet instead of being shown the door many of the employees were moved elsewhere. Some over to a far bigger project in the form of Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth.

It doesn't matter if these people fail. You're dealing with a cult and so long as the freaks hold the perceived 'correct' political and cultural talking points they will be given second chance after second chance. Not necessarily with the same company but so long as people who think and act like them are in charge of who gets hired, they're not going anywhere.

A lot of what props these people up, after all, is embedded in law - anti-discrimination laws in particular. I'm sure most people here are familiar with DEI/ESG but the tendrils really burrow very deeply. More so than many would expect.
