Morrigan has this kind of GILF energy going on, she was always flat so can't really criticise the design on that front this time. I think her outfit is fine. And unlike all the female NPCs in Inquisition, she actually has a kind of feminine energy about her, like the way she stands.

2.jpg

This isn't the real Morrigan though:

3.jpg

No fucking way that Morrigan speaks like this.

DA:O Morrigan for reference (on her way to murder some babies probably):

morrigan.jpg

Good lord she actually has better tits than I remember, you can even see sideboob, cover your eyes Codex

Yeah even the DA reddit thread is bewildered by at how she got kiddiefied, just like the rest of the cast.

>The returning characters kind of feel like costumed mascots you can take a picture with at an amusement park

>I don’t feel connected to any of the new characters and it feels like the returning characters are just props.

>When did she get so...jolly? I liked arch sarky scornful mysterious Morrigan. Smiley friendly Morrigan is disappointing and a bit boring to be honest. :\

https://www.reddit.com/r/dragonage/comments/1gh7jpr/dav_act_1_spoilers_john_epler_said_this_was_not/

I posted my own bewilderment earlier.

I wonder if your settings are different from mine because she had grey streaks when she showed up on my screen. I remember thinking that it was bizarre that she looked somehow younger than in Inquisition ... but also has plenty of grey streaks ... but I think she's also like 40?

Whatever, add it to the pile.

I'm shocked to see so much passion for Dragon Age in this thread from the Codex. Where were you all when Baldur's Gate 3 came out?

Oh, that's right. You all had Larian's dick in your mouths.

Codex, I'm sorry to inform you. But you've been doing nothing but reflect mainstream opinion on this game. If Veilguard had the steam sales and critical acclaim that BG3 had you'd all be batting for the other team, guaranteed. You've lost your edge. Remind me why Dragon Age as a franchise matters this much to you?

This game isn't getting any post content, lmao. Great shit.

"No plans for downloadable expansions. The developer's full attention has now shifted entirely to the next Mass Effect as their current project."

BioWare Rules Out Any Dragon Age: The Veilguard DLC

Now focused on Mass Effect
Dragon Age: The Veilguard PS5
BioWare has revealed it won't be releasing any post-launch DLC or expansions for its new PS5 release Dragon Age: The Veilguard, as the developer has now shifted all its attention to the next Mass Effect game. During a deep dive interview with Rolling Stone, creative director John Epler confirmed the shift in focus.

"With Dragon Age: The Veilguard now complete, BioWare confirms that there are currently no plans for downloadable expansions. The developer's full attention has now shifted entirely to the next Mass Effect as their current project."

At launch, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is said to contain anywhere between 50 and 80 hours of RPG content, depending on how much time you invest into its optional elements and quests. Still, for there to already be confirmation of no DLC for a game like The Veilguard comes as a surprise. Besides ANTHEM, the vast majority of BioWare titles have received expansions in the months after release. Obviously, there'll still be patches and updates to fix any glitches or outstanding issues, but that appears to be the end of it for the studio.
The next Mass Effect instalment is what BioWare will focus on next, an RPG that will stick to its photorealistic graphics, as confirmed by project director Michael Gamble in a recent series of tweets. While Dragon Age: The Veilguard went for a more stylised look, Mass Effect will remain photorealistic for as long as Gamble is at the helm.

What was available on day one yesterday is now the complete Dragon Age: The Veilguard package, so it's a pretty good job BioWare has made a great RPG experience. "Its shift to crunchy action combat is an improvement over Inquisition's middle-of-the-road approach, and although the game feels a little light on meaningful player choice, the storytelling pulls no punches when it actually matters," we explained. "This is a gorgeous and gripping adventure, backed by a cast of endearing heroes and deliciously devious villains." We also have a Dragon Age: The Veilguard guide to help you get started with the RPG.

Oh noes! No DLC, no microtransactions! You get an actual completed product. How horrible!
You are not simply retarded, afterall. You are evil, retarded propagandist, one-liner spewing machine that pushes THE MESSAGE and wants everything good destroyed. Are you perhaps He-Man villain from the 80s? You are ancient enough. Ancient evil retard

Again, for millionth time: stop expecting anything from AAA studios from modern American cultural influence. Just stop. STOOOOP. These Devs are #1 incompetent #2 uninspired #3 ONLY make games where 2024 San Francisco or New York are teleported into various scenarios.

Actually some of the vendors and other NPCs don't look half bad

Also I thought morrigan looked ok - completely changed her character in every way and she doesn't speak or act like the same character from previous games though
Show me an example with face&body so we can further discuss.
Ok give me a bit and I'll screenshot one
Ok here's one, there was another one but I don't have a savegame to access that NPC

1.jpg

She's as flat as a pancake obviously because women aren't allowed to have tits in this universe (like no joke haven't seen a single woman with actual tits) but honestly I don't think this NPC looks that bad.
There is small piece, nay a CRUMB, little tiny crumb, unless you have an eye of a eagle and scout entire game looking for it you would otherwise need microscope to see this really small crumb of cake on this COLOSSAL SHIT

Conclusion: [it ain't shit cake it's cake with shit]

Even RPS is mocking the style of the game (link):

That's also how long it took me to get over how popular botox apparently is in Thedas these days. Faces are stiff, teeth are unnervingly white, and everyone you meet is just that little bit too filtered; too perfect. I don’t need an unending parade of ragged, wretched souls. Just, y’know, maybe a single person who looks like they’ve gone a day without mainlining moisturiser. Later on, Veilguard showed me captives excruciated by blood magic and blight-festered battlegrounds, dusky mediterranean markets and lavish, crumbling architecture. This is a world with wrinkles and stress lines, yet bizarrely inhabited by skincare influencers.

What's even the point of this way of thinking? If you don't NOPE-THE-FUCK-OUT! of any game with pronouns and body types, considering that is literally WOKE SIEG HEIL, I believe that your mind has already been infected with gay. And if we look at people who play this elephant shit and try to search some micro good things about it to say, like "guyz game's .exe works!", they almost always have midwit takes otherwise and are WOKE adjacent. In other words: in 5 years they'll all be little Mortismals

There's a hugely popular and successful fantasy game with body types, same gender marriage, incestous marriage and transgender main antagonist(s) and for sure it's not Veilguard. Currently people want more of it and I agree with them

A mainstream media outlet actually lights this bag of shit on fire and steps on it in public for all to see and smell instead of quietly huffing the shit fumes and saying it smells like roses.

Kudos and props to Forbes for still having enough balls to go against the narrative.

The best way to convince someone of your own point-of-view is generally not to bash them over the head with a cudgel, though that seems to be the preferred approach in modern political discourse and, alas, in entertainment. The culture, being what it is, has lost all sense of subtlety. In far too many films, TV shows and video games, we see a heavy-handed, top-down approach to the issues of the day. It’s a real shame that the developers at BioWare decided to go this route in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
They literally say they’d like it more subtle don’t they

Let me break that horn off your forhead and slice your throat with it, Mr. Gay Unicorn. People played BG3 because of its production values. #1 by far MC is straight white male [official statistic published by angry Larian].#1 by far romance is straight Shadowheart. Eat Minotaur dick

That's conclusion from almost everyone including Critical Drinker and Asmongold and every centrist, libshit, liberal and WOKE adjacent in this thread and everywhere else.

"BIG WOKE Daddy, why are you so mean and rough? Fuck us, please fucks us, but fuck us geeently, like good girls we are teehee"
:codexisfor:
Which returns us to the fact that HOW FUCKING MUCH is writing, entertainment and average thinking product of zeitgeist in which we live, spirit of time and era. And how much they want to create WOKE zeitgeist from top-down and that is precisely reason why the fuck we bring up culture war up so fucking often. DA:Origins could have been made at Bioware ONLY in 2009. Anything remotely similar to its tone is for BIOWARE or any mainstream western AAA slopfactory impossible to produce in 2024. Such a simple and self evident concept

I agree that the face looks good but this showcases one of the issues with the female NPC bodies quite well; the vertical line in the middle of the chest and the positioning of the breasts makes it look like they just edited the model for the male bodies (and not very well) with very little thought given to the fact that female bodies are structurally different rather than just smaller, slimmer men with breasts (and Neve's chest is similarly odd looking so it's not just Bioware's weird elves striking again).
FWIW this sort of thing isn't something I normally care about, I'd be happy for games to have non-detailed models and have the camera stay in isometric view, but the cinematic dialogue really highlights any unrealistic aspects of the character models that would otherwise be easy to ignore.

Check out this video on Origins, look how far this series has fallen lol

Going from Baldur's gate 2, Dragon age origins was already decline, the number of cut spells compared to BG2 is massive. In DAO, you only have access to a handful of spells obtained at each level-up which is the most boring way of learning spells (= BG2 sorcerer way). Again, compare this to BG2 and baldur's gate wins again all the way.

Not to mention the fact that there is only 3 classes in the game compared to a dozen in BG2 with their own kits.
