It’s so great and successful that 2 days after release they are saying no plans for more content. Just a reminder that andromeda had planned content that was scrapped, this has nothing planned from the get go

My only complaint is that we need more games like this.

This game isn't getting any post content, lmao. Great shit.

"No plans for downloadable expansions. The developer's full attention has now shifted entirely to the next Mass Effect as their current project."

BioWare Rules Out Any Dragon Age: The Veilguard DLC

Now focused on Mass Effect
Dragon Age: The Veilguard PS5
BioWare has revealed it won't be releasing any post-launch DLC or expansions for its new PS5 release Dragon Age: The Veilguard, as the developer has now shifted all its attention to the next Mass Effect game. During a deep dive interview with Rolling Stone, creative director John Epler confirmed the shift in focus.

"With Dragon Age: The Veilguard now complete, BioWare confirms that there are currently no plans for downloadable expansions. The developer's full attention has now shifted entirely to the next Mass Effect as their current project."

At launch, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is said to contain anywhere between 50 and 80 hours of RPG content, depending on how much time you invest into its optional elements and quests. Still, for there to already be confirmation of no DLC for a game like The Veilguard comes as a surprise. Besides ANTHEM, the vast majority of BioWare titles have received expansions in the months after release. Obviously, there'll still be patches and updates to fix any glitches or outstanding issues, but that appears to be the end of it for the studio.
The next Mass Effect instalment is what BioWare will focus on next, an RPG that will stick to its photorealistic graphics, as confirmed by project director Michael Gamble in a recent series of tweets. While Dragon Age: The Veilguard went for a more stylised look, Mass Effect will remain photorealistic for as long as Gamble is at the helm.

What was available on day one yesterday is now the complete Dragon Age: The Veilguard package, so it's a pretty good job BioWare has made a great RPG experience. "Its shift to crunchy action combat is an improvement over Inquisition's middle-of-the-road approach, and although the game feels a little light on meaningful player choice, the storytelling pulls no punches when it actually matters," we explained. "This is a gorgeous and gripping adventure, backed by a cast of endearing heroes and deliciously devious villains." We also have a Dragon Age: The Veilguard guide to help you get started with the RPG.

Oh noes! No DLC, no microtransactions! You get an actual completed product. How horrible!

Been reading a lot about how game is doing badly, etc... but I can tell you - these people are wrong. Game is doing great. 77k peak on Steam. Do you know how many people that is?

And lets be real, its not like BioWare is some huge studio like Bethesda or Ubisoft or Larian or people that made that monkey game. Also, it beat that new Jedi game at Steam peak players. And that game is STAR WARS.

My only complaint is that we need more games like this. So yeah, suck it chuds.

What are these estimates of 6-9 year of development with 300 people working on it all the time. This game had max 2 years of full production.
And what pray tell me did Bioware release in those other 4-7 years where according to your calculations they weren't working on Faiguard? A half-assed (literally) remaster of Mass Effect and some early prototyping of ME5? They even offloaded SW:TOR to some third party. Failguard is literally their only real project post-Anthem (it doesn't take a lot of manhours to fuck up the shaders and remove butt shots from Mass Effect for a remaster).

Bioware has about 1000 employees. Do you think they put them on ice during the times when they're not doing full production? And that way, while they're cryogenically preserved, they don't have to pay them or incur any other administrative expenses.

We know when Failguard (back then Dreadwoke) started. We know when it released. And we know roughly the size of the studio. Whatever it is they were doing all this time, Failguard was supposed to pay for it. It clearly won't, instead creating another hole for EA into which to shovel some of their infinite sports games money. And a corpo like that can only tolerate such string of losses for so long.

Ass Effect 5: play as Private Joe Carpenter, a preteen human assigned-male-at-birth recruit at the Alliance Headquarters who publicly identifies as an Asari, but is secretly non-hexadecimal. Travel onboard the newly commissioned Orwymyndy to visit Joe's relatives scattered all over Alliance space, and convince them to affirm Joe's gender identity. Venture outside Alliance space to raise money for Joe's gender reassignment surgery by turning tricks in unsanctioned Krogan colonies.

Yet another triumphant return to form for Bioware! 10/10

Actually some of the vendors and other NPCs don't look half bad

Also I thought morrigan looked ok - completely changed her character in every way and she doesn't speak or act like the same character from previous games though
Show me an example with face&body so we can further discuss.
Ok give me a bit and I'll screenshot one
Ok here's one, there was another one but I don't have a savegame to access that NPC

She's as flat as a pancake obviously because women aren't allowed to have tits in this universe (like no joke haven't seen a single woman with actual tits) but honestly I don't think this NPC looks that bad.

Morrigan has this kind of GILF energy going on, she was always flat so can't really criticise the design on that front this time. I think her outfit is fine. And unlike all the female NPCs in Inquisition, she actually has a kind of feminine energy about her, like the way she stands.

This isn't the real Morrigan though:

No fucking way that Morrigan speaks like this.

DA:O Morrigan for reference (on her way to murder some babies probably):

Good lord she actually has better tits than I remember, you can even see sideboob, cover your eyes Codex

I finally played it and it's not a bad game, definitely not game of the year material but also not a disaster.
What annoys me is the intensive hand holding and the myriad of cinematics.
Until now, at least half of my time with the game is spent on watching videos and following quest markers.
The gameplay didn't annoy me as much as I would have thought.
It's definitely different and more shallow than origins but that doesn't make it bad, just different.
And it's definitely better or rather more preferable for me than what we have in baldur's gate 3.
Turn based with dice throws is extremely slow and unresponsive for my tastes.
The tactics were also non-existent in that game.
Performance isn't ideal but the game is playable.
You fellows hate the game for no reason, the supposed woke elements simply don't exist.
I have not encountered any forced homosexuality or transgenderism as was implied here but also in other websites.
Inclusivity is fine as long as it doesn't get in the way of the game and here it doesn't.

The Bioware dialogue wheel

4.jpg

So this powerful witch who I've never met before, what do I get to ask her? 'Who are you?' brilliant stuff BW

You can also see the retarded dialogue options in all their glory here 'That sounds bad' who wrote this, a 5 year old?

When you complete 'missions' in this game you get this:

This doesn't feel like something I should see in a gritty fantasy RPG

This game can actually impress at times, visually:

Everything is a bit too 'shiny', though, and at times the colour palette looks like someone vomited a rainbow on your screen.

I think that the factions in the game primarily exist in order to give you meaningless 'choices' like this one (the faction you choose determines this 'wildcard' choice, aside from the two basic options of kill him or let him live). A quick bit of dialogue thrown in, stick an NPC nobody cares about in that location later, game has C&C!

9.jpg

I was genuinely interested in these faction choices during character creation, they seemed neat. But you quickly realise there's nothing deep here.

I honestly started vibing with Neve out of all the companions because she is the only one that doesn't act like a giant bitch when you make sensible decisions.

Ah yes morrigan personally knows scout hardin now even though in inquisition they never spoke, were never in the same area and it really makes no sense for either character to have randomly chatted and befriended the other (morrigan wouldnt have cared about random pleb soldiers and hardin was portrayed as reserved and professional+ was always scouting so would be one of the inquisition troops who spent the least amount of time at hq).

I wanted to share this. One of my Vermintide 2 battle brothers from my group tried the game:

I started on Nightmare (hardest difficulty) and initially I felt like there was some level of challenge, obviously I didn't die or anything, but I had to actually think about what I was doing

Then I got the two companions and they both have heals that have like 30s cooldowns, it's basically impossible to die with these two abilities AND your HP potions unless you are an absolute moron

Hardest difficulty btw, this is how the game illustrates it:

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.

My dude, if you call that arm and breast aplasia feminine, I don't know what else I could tell you...

Nah I said the energy she has as in how she stands and stuff. I say that because in Inquisition one of the things that annoyed me a lot was how the female NPCs stood, sat, held themselves etc. For example in one scene Josephine sits to talk to the Inquisitor and she sits exactly like a man would. In fact all the NPCs were like that.
