I'm honestly finding the story in this game to be quite a bit more engaging than the original's. I don't even remember the original having much of a story. The spy espionage/royal corruption stuff in this one is at the very least intriguing. All the sidequests have been forgettable but the main quest seems cool so far.

As for the actual main quests themselves, the setup and multiple ways of doing them are more interesting than actually doing them, if that makes any sense. I said earlier in the thread it sounds a bit like Hitman and it is, but without the stealth systems that make those games. Nevertheless it's a nice change of pace from killing shit out in the woods.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
The beggar quest was entertaining. Waiting is a bit of a pain but the quest was fun.

i told the beggar's cat wife and she stabbed him and proceed to kill herself. Dunno what happen if you tell his noble wife.

After that my pawn reprimanded me "master, i knew we shouldn't get involved in this"

Niggers how is this game easy, I'm a turn based boomer and I suck at action games, but I still did pretty well with Souls series, while here I walked into some cave while on the main quest going to the capital, found some fucking Chimera boss, and despite having over9000 healthpots 5 wakestones and 4 NPC soldiers from the main quest helping me, I couldn't take more than one healthbar off this fucker (it has like 4) despite trying like 10 times.

Just how far off the beaten path did you wander? Because everything around the city is pathetically easy. Bosses just require a bit of patience.

And I notice you just skip over the mobs, which can all be killed by a level 1 noob and his companions, especially if you use cheap tactics like throwing them into water.

Maybe I didn't play enough and there's some kind of level scaling I'm not aware of though.

Codex: " Savescumming in RPG sucks
Sure, but you still savescum in DD2. There's just a way to nuke all your saves accidentally from the main menu.
Closest I've come to save scumming is throwing away 30 minutes of progress to bring back a quest NPC who died. A fair trade me thinks and not very scummy. You can't truly savescum, atleast not yet.

I know which Chimera you're talking about. You were too low lvl. That early in the game pretty much any monster can wreck you except a Cyclops. Even a Cyclops will fuck you up if you're not careful.

Chimeras are a decently high level boss so if you haven't even been to the capital yet you're probably quite a bit underleveled for that fight.

That chimera is pretty close the starting area actually, and a good deal stronger than anything else in the region.

cheap tactics like throwing them into water.
That's half the fun though. My new favorite tactic is throwing the corpse of an enemy at his friend and killing him with it. Not exactly the same kind of gameplay you get from a Souls game, there.

Okay escorting NPCs seems to be totally borked. I had issues with one earlier in the game but found a way around it. This one may have fucked me a bit. Not alot but I'm gonna lose some progress. Non-pawn followers will randomly disappear/die so hard save before that shit.

Haven't had that happen. Did you keep an eye on them? Sometimes they'll get stuck on terrain or stop going with you if you get too far away, you basically ditch them in the woods.

You might not be the right target audience for an RPG

The first NPC would just disappear and the quest would insta-fail, even while I wasn't moving around much. I mistakingly thought it was a timed quest at first and thought I pissed around too much and that was the reason for me randomly failing the quest. Nah it's just bugged. I looked it up and other people had similar issues. It happens with the elf you meet in the capital.

Same exact situation with this last NPC I had to escort. Don't camp, don't fast travel, and move very slowly with NPC followers because they can easily bug tf out.

Didn't for me for either of those. The thought I left out was I wonder if it's like Cyberpunk's despawning cops and cars, etc., where as soon as they would leave sight, they'd despawn. Some sort of short on RAM cleanup thing or something like that. (Not a programmer, just what I'd guess for why assets would disappear like that.)

heh, lanterns are 5k models. You read that right. The oversized lantern at your belt is 5k poly. This goes for your every pawn which total makes it already 20k but that's not the end. Every lantern on every npc is as well same lantern... 20 characters that is 100k in polygons...

I'm waiting for modders to discover other stuff like this. I am 100% sure the cpu thread is murdered by batch calls or maybe debug flags that were not removed or something else.

Or it might be just denuvo triggering too much like many other games.

Camping and fast travel seem to be what fucks them up. If you just go the whole distance and don't outpace them it's fine like you say. I was trying to rush the elf because I thought it was timed. Once I realized it wasn't I went slow and he did what he needed to do.

It's a bit different here than the first game. You can spend dozens of hours exploring before going to the capital. I'm assuming that's what he did? He also could be exaggerating.

Not exaggerating at all. I am 33 hours in and I am yet to visit other nation. Quests alone in city without any fighting took me like 8 hours and i still have few to do.

I am sure though that game can be finished pretty fast much like 2077 if you only care about main quest.

I didn't play first one, but they seem pretty common here. I found around half of them in random chests, the other half I got from Pawn quests.

Game is pure sex. Give us some hardcore difficulty settings and we got the Game of the Generation on our hands. Do it Crapcom, you limp dick fuckaroonies.

Game is definitely on easier side, though it is not like i didn't die few times. I think the issue is that 4 people party is too much for mostly 5-6 enemy groups. Imho it would be nice challenge if you just go with your own pawn and nothing else. I will do that on my second playtrough.

Speaking of which pure sex. Warrior vocation is pure sex. Easily the best two hander class in any arpg bar none. IT reminds me a lot of Monster Hunter GS but even with more weight behind every swing and even more deliberate tactical attacks. The difference between overhead smash and sweep might be stunlock and death.

The way dd1 worked it was whatever npc you interacted with last that had a maxed relationship you'll probably wind up with some rando npc you did a sidequest for before stumbling into the end game.
