Intentions changed and today, Tornquist told me, "The nature of Dreamfall Chapters and the nature of the story means that we really want to have one big meaty game with a full story with a full conclusion that wraps up everything everybody has been waiting for." And just to be clear, he stressed: "No episodic gaming."

Since they dropped the (ridiculous) episodic content idea, they could have at least given the game a proper Dreamfall 2 title. I don't think there's any reason for them to refrain from putting '2' in the title, as the game is an actual sequel whose plot will be impenetrable to anyone who hasn't played the original Dreamfall. Now the game title is about "chapters of life", which of course is bullshit.

I believe that Red Thread Games only has the rights to develop the specific game "Dreamfall Chapters", the rights to the franchise itself remains with Funcom.

This statement in a nutshell neatly explains why adventure games failed and why they were shit. 10.5 hours for a game you have no incentive to play through again because you have seen and done everything.
