Jax is the developer of Elex? Wow
This game is horrendous. Like if I was a professional game developer and this was the best I could come up with, I'd probably quit.
At the same time, in many ways it is really fun. I love zooming around on the jetpack to explore new places or just try to travel safely. And the sense of character progression is delightful. I went from getting starched by anything and everything to winning like 1 in 5 fights now.
The game really tests your ability to use your wits and survive, and that's what is keeping me hooked. I am curious to see just how high on the food chain I can go.
It's still on massive discount on gog for the cyber/thanksgiving/black friday sale. It worth the 16 rubles?
yeah. i don't understand why they just don't copy paste gothic 1/2 level system. maybe add some things like more active skills, but keep cool stuff like better combo chain with higher skill, better dodging etc.Its fun game and very nice open world. But the progression is... janky. Lacks the finesse and gradual steps of Gothic 2 or Risen 1.
And player skill has too little role impact.
So anyway, how do you hop to the top of the power pylon next to the teleporter the first dude (Edan?) stops at if you decide to try and help trapped clerics?
You mean, slow tedious and cheesy, yet satisfying.Killing slug beast at level two felt like mowing down an Orc at early level in Gothic.
With a lot of arrows and grenadesHow the fuck did you kill a slugbeast at level 2?

Replaying it a third time and it is still fun. For me on a replay i do tend to just walk around and explore in more free manner,do like to stop and take in the view from time to time. The level design is really impressive, especially when it comes down to toilet paper and shitters.
ELEX makes people walk on air
On your first playthrough it is very hard not to. It's purposefully tailored to be the "newbie" town, and its vertical slice is very 1st playthrough-friendly.Is it true you can ignore the town he takes you to at the start? I quit because I didn't want to talk to 20 NPCs.

However, if you know how to wiggle your way around, you can head to any of the other 2 factions just fine.

Each faction has their ups and downs. Good side and dark side.I ignored the berserkers town on the start of my first playthrough, and went scavenging around and then straight to the clerics, because I wanted to join them asap for cool gunz. So I did the berserkers town quests the last and, funnily enough, ended up joining them, because they seemed like the most sane faction in comparsion to the others
