It will be useful even in 15 ly. Even jumping 4 times is annoying by the constant switching of the galaxy map.
comments like yours make me glad that my starter ship has a 19ly jump range
Alright, but it will be usefull until you don't reached that travel distance.

I'm at 25ly atm in the gamma. The max range for jumps is pretty loltarded.

Fortunately, there's 3rd party applications to tell you the jump sequence you need to get from A to B.

Good finally my space ships will finally get as good technology as pre sovietic planes , like route plotting ! Cant wait for the 16 , i am not playing much as they dont even have the balls to tell if theres a wipe or not .

There is a wipe. One of the devs informed us we were very mean for pressuring for an answer on the FD forums.

Mean ? I am almost as old as crispy, i dont appreciate being lectured like a little kid, by crooks who removed the offline mode to enforce a DRM, while pretending it was because the solo content was not good enough .Worse than that , the always online part is to be sure you will receive the Ads on station panels, as its much more important to please their ad contractor than people who backed this game.
The game has many qualities but the multiplayer aspect is not one of them, there's barely any interaction and absolutely no content requiring going online right now.

Wasnt that hard to tell us at the beggining of the gamma that the newsletter and headstart was misleading and again borderline false advertising too.

You should go tell them that on the official forum and get torn apart by packs of rabid carebears :3

I don't think the wipe was ever really at question. It was so obvious. And I agree with it, it would be unfair for the new players if the beta testers had a huge headstart at launch.

When i started trading real money on stock exchange , ive read 9/10 people were losing money whatever the support they were using . 9 people out of 10 are complete dumbfuck , the ratio is always the same...On elite forums like on other mainstream forums. I expected the online nerd community to be a little more clever but it's not the case, the vast majority there is completely dumb. It 's even more obvious on star citizen forums, with people buying real ships . I am not speaking of blaine, the money hes investing, is just pocket money and insignificant compare to his income . But those people.. they are clearly using their launch money expecting jesus to come back in a capital ship.

It will be even less fair for people who will start after christmas or months later...Oh and some already start in cobras too.In any case beta testers are already way better pilots, a little millions more wouldnt change anything except pleasing the people who invested time.

We're already getting lifetime insurance discounts. I'm flying an Asp kitted out with high-grade upgrades for exploration, and the insurance costs if I lose it are above 500,000 cr. I don't remember what the Beta Backer discount is supposed to be, but the Alpha backer discount is even bigger. So in the long term we are getting a huge advantage.

We are able to dock our ships without crashing it, i can probably annihilate any new player in a sidewinder dogfighting . We know how to trade , how and where , its profitable. Getting us to grind back in the sidewinder, i dont see why, plus that means everyone in the starting sectors and vets pwning the noobs.

It's not unfair to have skills.

Since I've started exploring the outskirts of inhabited space, I've noticed that there's little to no trading traffic for the farthest reaches. Hun Nik is a refinery that has High Supply of all metals and minerals, and a medium demand for everything else. The edges of inhabited space may be the best places to earn trading income if they ever nerf rare goods. It's also way easier to find pristine metallic belts if you want to go mining. Hun Nik also has one planet with a pristine metallic ring. Unmolested by grimy Inner Sphere paws.

Some intrepid forumgoers found a complete(?) list of rare trade goods and their supposed locations

I went through the file on linux using the "strings" utility and filtering away many of the strings that aren't interesting (basically anything with an _). Some locations DO check out. I went to Jarua and found Jaroua Rice and then went to Njangari Saddles, see screenshot.
Attachment 3724Attachment 3729

The following strings are further possible hits. I might have missed some, too. But if these are all positives, then there's a LOT more of those rares than previously known. Try to check some of those out. String as it appears in file - possible System.

For Jaroua, it's Mccool City with Jaroua Rice
Njangari, there's only one station, Lee Hub with ... Saddles

Quechua didn't have anything when I visited.

People on the FD forums have started checking the systems out. Most (but not all) of them seem to be there.

Also, is it just me or did sound take a severe turn for the worse in Gamma? It used to be really good in Beta, but lost a lot of depth and oomph in gamma. :(
