Liked the music. Seems they were inspired by the X3 Xtended Mod with the trailer.

But what about the excitement of exploration, when you find those stations with rare goods, you find the trade routes all by yourself.
There's an enormous chance you would never find them otherwise. How exciting is that?
You guys found them. Not all of course, but you find enough to get rich.

Anyways, the Launch trailer had a music so bad, I went out of my way and remixed it with the recently released EVE Online expansion's music. I didn't put much effort into it, but at least it is watchable:

Jeezus, they once again messed with the contrast. Space is now too dark and the galaxy at its center is just a giant white line.

Also, all my keybindigs are gone, FUCK.

Route planning is useless if you want to plot a route longer than 50 LY. You actually may lead yourself into a dead end that way.

Looks like we finally got our Mercenary Edition stuffies. I'm pretty sure the mercenary paint job is new (but i'm flying a Cobra atm, so i have a lot of paint jobs already), don't know if it's available for all ships. We also got a skull decal.

watchable for whom? still gives off a completely false fast-paced action impression of the game, only now the music fits the video even less than before.

them dropping offline is starting to annoy me increasingly more. even in solo some fsd transitions take forever, and it's worse in normal multiplayer. really annoying.

Well, I never had these kind of problems. Like never ever. On the other hand, after updating the client the game crashes before the Frontier logo screen. So, I can't play at all. :(

God, I wish I could afford an Adder.... buuuut I'm happy doing my filthy exploration/piracy/trading casual bullshit, even if it doesn't rake in the dosh like planned farming does.

I hope they add fleet shit next. It'd make flying with your buds easier.

hm. they changed explorer to start out with 30k, and all the ks special versions including pirate with 40k (what's the point of starting with 7k bounty if you can just buy it right off, ffs). and all the components are loaned now, so no selling shit off for 1mil, but fuckit, it starts with intermediate+detailed surface scanner combo

imma sellin mah freagle and getting the best scoop i can, let's see how far away i can get from core before i blow the fuck up.
oh yeah, y'all can add Sheosidhe Bhunay if you want.
Also, all my keybindigs are gone, FUCK.
the funny thing is that my bound numpad keys are still bound. it's just the regular keys which are gone.

This confirms that they are not going to make different factions look more distinct in any way. Pathethic.

Or at least, not for launch. It's doubtful that they've scrapped all of their plans since they're banking on the expansion model. Dec 16 may have just been too soon of a commitment.

This is what we needed. Price database.

The price drop-down was actually in the previous iteration of the Gamma, you just didn't notice it because you were too busy exploiting Rare runs, ya shameless whore. ;)

interdictions seem toned down.. or maybe it just looks that way because i now spend less time in most systems due to route planning

Seems like rare goods are now officially ded. You're lucky if you find 4-5 at a station and the sale prices are glitchy. Oh well, it was good when it lasted. I have an ASP with Cat D beam lasers, Cat A Power plant, thrusters, scanner, cat b fsd, shields, life support, military-grade composite hull, adv discovery scanner, rating a shield cell bank, surface scanner and hugeass raxx.

I have two Size 1 beam lasers, two gimballed multicannon size 1s, and two gimballed multicannon size 2s. Never have any power issues with a Rank B power plant. I just need to find a system with an A rank FSD and my ASP will be complete.

Edit: I didn't lose all of my keybindings (no idea why it doesn't happen to everybody) but there were a few odd changes, like Enter no longer being my interface selection button.

I also feel like a fool for not realizing this earlier, but you can buy lower grade shield generators for lower sized internal compartments. That way you can fit out the size-approppriate generator for a massive rack and mack up the difference with the smaller internal compartments. Has anybody tested this before? Do multiple shield generators stack together or is it just the one that counts?

They've also implemented wear & tear. I just hit it out of reflex without paying attention and I think it cost me hundreds of thousands of credits to tune up my Asp. I'll confirm the impact on price once I've dropped off my snake skins.

The wear&tear stuffie used to be cr0 to remove the scratches & shit on your paint job. I hope it isn't performance-related as well, because I've only had my Asp for 2-3 days and my wear&tear bill is up to cr 450k.

I also found sone new rare goods that aren't on the lists. And after I bought them the station stopped stocking them. Not sure if working as intended or glitch. Blue Milk and Evil Juice. Not every station was willing to buy them from me.

I checked 5 of the rare trade good stations. None of them stocked more than 3-4 units of rares. The happy trader days are over :negative:

In other news...

CODEXIANS! TONIGHT. WE DINE. IN LUGH!

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=71699

I am not a Federation supporter. I am not an Empire supporter. I am not even an Alliance supporter. I am merely a freedom fighter for Lugh. I am not however above using them for my purposes.

Lugh is a starsystem about 60 ly from Sol. Lugh is also a great solar deity of the ancient celtic world, eloper of Boann, son of the Dagda, father of Cú Chulainn, slayer of Balor and champion of Tara. I was amazed when I discovered him blazing on the starmap and as soon as I was jump capable headed out to bask in his masterful light.

However, upon arrival discovered he has fallen victim of this 'worm' you call the Federation. Now I am his servant. Now I am his right hand. Now I am his 'spear of light'.

Lugh will be free.
Lugh must once again be free.
I know now what I must do.
I will lead others in this fight to free Lugh from the Federation.

I am calling all alliance players and Empire players to blockade all traffic to and from Lugh in this Federation system. THe Federation must see that this system is no longer profitable and so not worth their effort. All Federation enemies are to direct their attacks in this system.

If this persistant universe really works then FD will have to step up and take notice. WE can change this galaxy one system at at a time...

Update
Ok guys I am updating this first post as requested.

For eons the worship of the great yet ancient God Lugh Lámhfhada has been repressed on Earth before man had taken to the stars. But our ancestors were not ignorant to the movements of the heavens. For did they not build the great monuments of Brú na Boinne and Stone Henge? While in its infancy mankind went through a terrible period of mono belief systems where they persecuted the ancient Gods and all of their worship. But it was never completely stamped out and the Great God Lugh continued to be followed and worshiped in the night sky where those who knew where to direct their attention found solace in his watchful eye...

As the human race expanded beyond the heavens it was not long before the Lugh system was taken by the Federation to exploit its rich resouces but this did not go unnoticed by the followers of 'The Long Arm'... Blasphemy! How dare they disrespect the great god of our ancestors? Thinking themselves above the old ways and old beliefs?

Over the centuries those who could moved to the Lugh system to be closer to their point of attention and an underground following has grown over the centuries into now what is a sizable minority faction in this system. Always persecuted and hunted in the past they have established themselves now as a force within the system where each and every right they posses had to be fought and worked for. But they will accept repression no more. Now we want what is rightfully ours! The worship of the great God Lugh will no longer be oppressed and we will have dominance in this sector and eject the oppressive Federation out of this system declaring an independent Lugh!

We call on all ships for support .

Come to Lugh. Only do missions for the 'Crimson State Group'
We need guns and weapons to gather forces for our uprising.
Our numbers are few but our resolve steadfast!
We will not fail.
We cannot fail.
We MUST not fail!

Join us! At present we hold 14% influence but need you help to gain 55% of control. Do all you can to impede the Federation in this system. Do not accept their missions. Support the Crimson State Group and they will led us to victory.

And most of all, keep watch for 'The Spear of Light' - the Avatar of Lugh Lámhfhada

Lugh go brách!

Update

Fed 51.1 %

Lugh Defense 22.8%

Crimson State.....17.2 % The Sun God is gaining...

It seems the Federals are hanging onto the bare minimum majority at present. We have a good lead and need to secure this before the Feds move in and try to counter us. We shall have victory. Hold fast comrades and bring guns! Lots of guns!

Fellow Pilots, Traders, Explorers and Independent Entrepreneurs (Pirate is such an ugly word),

I call upon you to come to Lugh (44 : -6 : 27) and join the cause to free Lugh from the Federation and make it independent again.

Freedom and Fortunes await!

Reasons for the Indepence:
1. The Federation lets the children of Lugh work as slaves on the coffee plantations and sells them as "Animal" Meat when they become to weak.
2. Freedom of Religion is not tolerated and the priests of Lugh have to shave their head, get publicly beaten and covered in fecies.
3. The beliefs of the Crimson State, in which property belongs to those powerful enough that they can gain and keep it are not tolerated in the Federation.

More profane OC reasons:
4. We want to test the background simulation and create an interesting place in the Galaxy
5. The devs want us to do so as well
6. It is fun

This thread is to collect information and inform you about the progress of the event.
All are welcome to participate.

1. What is the goal?

The goal is to raise the influence of the "Crimson State" faction in the system. Currently they have an influence of 17% (up from 14% yesterday evening). We want to achieve an influence of over 55% to take over the system. We are curious to see the event system in place. We hope for interesting spawns of conflict zones and a civil war in the system.

Current standing:
Fed 51.1 %
Lugh Defense 22.8%
Crimson State Group 17.2 %

2. How to participate?

- Come to the Lugh system. Position is (44 : -6 : 27), about 60 ly from Sol
- Take missions for the "Crimson State" faction (be careful not to take other missions)
- Hand in exploration data at Crimson State stations.
- Trade with Crimson State stations.
- Pirate non-Crimson State vessels.
- Sabotage non-Crimson State missions (by abandoning them).

3. System information
Lugh is an agricultural / industrial system with 15 Billion people. It is currently unlawfully occupied by the Federation (they took over some time between patch 3.9 and version 1.0). It is about 60 ly from Sol in a dense area with plenty of inhabited systems and trading opportunities around.

Crimson State Faction Stations
"Knight Dock" - Lugh 5 - Wealthy, very large industrial station
"Read Gateway" - Lugh 7 - Wealthy, very large industrial outpost (all services)
"Seega Port" - Lugh 8 - Wealthy, very large industrial outpost (all services)
"Maclean Hub" - Lugh 11 - Wealthy, industrial outpost (all services)

4. Mission Information
You can get missions at all Crimson State Stations.
You can get pirating missions at Read Gateway

Mission Completion Information
H.E. Suits: Zeaex
Microbial Furnaces: ?
Fish: LHS 3167
Wine: Mari
Non-Lethal weapons: Arth

Black Market Information
- Harten Market - Lugh

I will be bringing hauls of weapons when I get home, then I'll start blasting federals.
