So true... so true...

Yeah, that would be a great trailer. That would really grab people's attention. These whiners really are that stupid that they don't get that the purpose of launch tralilers is to enduce excitement? It is supposed to look cool, and the fuck I care if it is showing real gameplay or not.

So true... so true...

but as in all companies, some retardo from marketing gets together with a producer and market the game to a different group of players, and after that they ask themselves why the blow back, and from where that influx of inane players came...

Yeah, because the alternative would be much cooler. Making a slow, silent trailer, which is boring and nobody cares about, so there are no influx of players of any kind.

Biatch, they made better in-engine trailers before.

Sure, but as far as grabbing people's attention, the new one surves its purpose more efficitently. But I really don't care, the new trailer is shit anyway, but it is shit because of the awful music, and not because it doesn't look like gamepelay.

Coords or GTFO! My go-to mining veins were all nuked in Gamma 2.0.
col 285 sector xa-d c13-2 i think it was.
it has 15 or so nodes, the two that i tried, one of which was near sun, the other one of the farthest away from it were both metallic. 40-60 purity asteroid in the sun node (the rest were 20ish purity gold silver or plat), the insystem node had ~10% purity plat roids, some with nothing fancy, some with gold silver.
ran across multiple systems of the same kind (single star, plenty of asteroid nodes) on the way, though i didn't check those, but they seem to be fairly common.

Depending on where you're at, the clean pirates may be working as intended. In anarchy systems (and some independant), you need to kill warrant scan them before their county shows.
If you're in fed/ali/emp space and they don't flip to wanted when they shoot you, check that you've got report crimes set to on. If you ave and they still stay clean, it's a bug and you should ticket it.
it's not an anarchy, it's unsettled. every time you enter a node, apparently even in unsettled systems (might depend on distance from sol), there seems to be a random event generated, for example entering asteroid field in unsettled sys can still spawn a miner convoy with some big ship and two small wingmen, or nothing, or those clean bounty idiots. the problem is that clean bounty idiots are infinite. if one spawns, running away from or killing him while in the same node will p. much immediately spawn a new one. this will go on until you gtfo of that node, and is fucking annoying, especially since due to the endless repetition, you're bound to eventually roll something that can seriously hurt you, especially when you're as sucky at combat as i am (yay for deadly-rating pirate in a fucking dropship). it wouldn't be so fucked up if at least some of them had visible bounties to pay for repairs.

Then don't go to nodes. You should be looking for pristine metallic planetary rings, since you can just fly into the ring and start mining the first rock, instead of going to an extraction point and dealing with all the NPC ships. Admittedly, the one time I tried mining a ring without being at an extraction point, an NPC cobra spawned into my area. Didn't attack me tho.

node = every point of interest in a system, not extraction node. they can spawn everywhere as long as you have cargo.
case in point, sequence of clean bounty idiots spawns from when i wanted to see if you can mine ice giant rings in an unsettled system: eagle sidewinder cobra eagle (managed to actually reach the asteroids here and they wouldn't drop anything) dropship (had to run away) sidewinder eagle, at which point i said fuck it and jumped to next system. i wasn't there for hours, all of these were immediately after the previous one got killed or ran away.

I've started mining for the first time today. My only question is that can you scan for quality asteroids or you just have to be lucky to find one with pure metal/gold etc.

a google reddit results tells me you can check whether it's pristine or something else on the system map.
edit:
g2.02 is disconnects galore. two in a row in less than one hour playtime.

when you click on the systems map, then click on the belt in question, it will show you what type it is, for example metallic, or metal rich, though that is no guarantee (the system i mentioned earlier shows up as just metallic, and i found a metal rich one that has way shittier metals in lower purities... so just go for anything that says metal, since that's where money is). even then you have to blast individual asteroids because they vary randomly in their purity.

are trade data or rebel transmissions worth anything? there is a ton of them to be found from random signal sources now...

:greatjob:

This is the kind of stuff I've been wanting to see since Day 1. Missions seem to be fixed with 2.02.

Edit: Just spent two hours looking for military plans that never materialized at a USS, and failed the mission. Don't take the missions where they want you to retrieve goods from a USS. Trading missions are faster and always more lucrative. Maybe some day the intrigue or military missions won't be a turd.

So yesterday I decided to repair my wear and tear for shits & giggoes. 330k cr down the drain.

Then I left the station. As I was flying through the toaster rack, some CMDR wrote "GERONIMO!" in the chat box and a lakon-9 boosted into me. That's another 750k down the drain + 90 units of platinum bought @ 12k each. :negative:

 Well, yesterday I tried to leave Fu City, and told myself: hell, I can leave the station and go through the vagina hole full speed, boosting. I only saw the entering ship in the last second.... then it was a great ball of fire!

The repair costs combined with the death of rares actually has me considering dumping my Asp in favour of a Cobra again. It doesn't sit well with me that some random idiot ramming me sets me back 4-5 hours of non-rare-good grinding to pay for repairs.

I'd be fine with it if there were more BIG MONEY missions available to larger ships. But I'm still getting missions to transport/find 2-4 goods at a time.

You can read on the official forum the story of some guy losing everything, crashing with is ship and cargo with not enough cash even for insurance. I dont want to be that guy. I could afford the asp now but the cargo hod is not really superior to my lakon upgraded with 32 cargo racks. Is the asp much more efficient than a cobra or viper in a fight ? The death of trade goods, made trading quite tiresome, and was thinking to buy a smaller ship and pimp it for combat instead. However i dont know where to look to get at least some war zones...

Right now the best way to do combat is go to a Nav Beacon and hunt bounties. I've seen some people claim that you have to get close to the planets around Eranin to spawn a combat instance, but I did it for a while and never saw one. The Galaxy just isn't very hot right now.

You don't get it Mortmal. The game is severly unbalanced. Maintenance costs go up to crazy levels. Even if you'll never lose your Asp (or any other ship that costs more than 6 million), repair and wear and tear costs will drain all of your money pretty fast. You can't sustain your credit balance with missions, because the best you can get is ~200k for bounty hunting. And that's what you get if you'll manage to destroy a well armed Anaconda, also, it takes a lot of time to find your target. It's just not worth the time and risk. Other missions will get you ~40k at best.

Wear and tear was supposed to have impact on subsystems. If it really works as Braben said, it's not wise to fly around in a ship in poor condition.

Only way to sustain your ship is by doing trade runs. But those are only profitable if you have a dedicated transport ship (Type 7/Type 9). And there's nothing else to do in this game than trading. Piracy/bounty hunting/mercenary work/exploration will not earn you much credits. Mining could, but it's a chore.

Theres new missions opening up with rep but they arent worth it either, collect black box, artefacts etc.. I get it theres not much to do atm and l the asp will drain my credits right, but how does it fare ina fight at least compared to a cobra ?
