[Exanima] This game has a weird tryhard difficulty philosophy that's probably keeping it down.

Something that annoyed me in the campaign is how you need to wield a torch to see in the dark areas, but the zombies seem to be able to fight just as well in complete darkness.

At least for the first level, it felt necessary to use a torch and a one-handed weapon, or to run to the nearest light source when using a two-handed weapon.

It helps to have Derrin carry the torch for you, and later on you can get the loyalty spell and have skeletons carry the torch.
Also, there's a dark vision helmet on level 3.

Save on exit would be nice for the labrynth mode. They don't yet have that due to technical issues they have yet to overcome. I haven't played the dungeon in years for this reason. I keep enjoying the arena until they finally out saving in.

The game does save on exit now.
Also, you CAN save manually if you don't mind going into C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Exanima and just make copies of the saved games manually. It can be super tedious though.

Did they actually made out of early access ? I remember it for years being like 2-3 levels with incredibly fun combat but 0 content.

oh no

It's okay. It commonly happens to men at your age.

Nope it's still in early access. Think it's been going on 8 years since they started. They recently added actual magic into the game though.
